The Sins of Desire (The Demons' Muse #3)(9)
Author: Auryn Hadley

"Dinner's almost ready," I whispered before finding his mouth again.

Luke turned his lips to my jaw and followed it across the side of my face toward my ear. "Dinner can wait. I think I need to take you into the woods and let you have your way with me."

I froze, and yes, he noticed. Luke leaned back to look in my face, worry quickly growing on his, but this was my chance. This was what Sia and I had talked about earlier. Our own deal, to tackle our own issues.

So I decided to try, even if I made a mess of this. "Maybe I want you to have your way with me..."

The worry vanished from his expression, replaced by something softer and warmer. "Are you sure? After how those demons treated you, I didn't think you'd..."

And now for the hardest part. I knew what I wanted, what I'd been dreaming of. I just didn't know how to say it without sounding like a complete fool. I didn't have centuries of practice to know which words sounded stupid and which were sexy, but I was willing to try at least once. Considering this was Lucifer, I figured the truth would probably work best.

"I liked it. Back then, I mean. It felt good, but it's better with you, so I just thought that, um, maybe if you showed me how to do it right?"

"You want me to make love to you?" he asked.

I jiggled my head in a nervous nod. "More than anything."

His hand moved to palm the side of my neck. "Not in a rush. I'm not making that into a quickie." He paused to let his thumb slide across my cheek. "How about a date? Me, you, and another plane where we can make a day of it? A little romance, a beach, or a candlelit dinner?" He sounded like he was warming up to this idea. "A real date. The kind you deserve, Ronwe. Let me seduce you the way you should be?"

"Really?"

He nodded. "I want this to be special."

"Yes," I agreed. "I'd never been on a date before I met you, so yes."

"Ok," Luke agreed, biting at his lower lip. "But it's going to take a few things first. Like your seal, changing the house wards, and such. Can I have a day or two to set this up?"

I answered the best way I could, by pushing him onto his back again and leaning into him. "I love you, Lucifer. If you want to spoil me, I'm certainly not about to stop you."

And then I kissed him, loving the way this angel melted under my hands. I also couldn't wait to see what it felt like to have him take complete control.

Ronwe

I had a stupid grin on my face when we sat down at the table for dinner. This was one of the things Sam demanded. Every day, when possible, we'd all sit down and share a meal as a group. Everyone took turns cooking, and tonight had been Sia's. When the roast flower was placed on the table, the First Legion shared looks, because we knew she hadn't done this. It had Nick's handiwork written all over it.

In other words, it would taste good. Because while our Muse was very skilled at some things, she'd never managed to learn how to cook a real meal. On Earth, it was easy to survive on pre-made foods. Some just required a little hot water, others could be heated in one of their contraptions, and still more were delivered to the door in boxes. The strangest thing was that it actually tasted good. Like the pizza I had my first day there.

Luke leaned across the table to start filling his plate, and the conversation started easily. Naturally, it was about me.

"I want to teach Ron to step through worlds on his own," Luke told them.

Bel snickered. "You want to be alone with him."

"I need to learn," I insisted. "And from how Sia explains it, that means a few trips around the five worlds so I have reference points to jump to."

Nick nodded in agreement. "I agree. Luke, take your boyfriend to a new place every day."

Bel grunted. "They need to learn to fly."

"Roof first," Nick reminded him.

Sam reached for the meal as soon as Luke was out of the way. "I think flying should come first. It's going to take a bit before either of them can take off on their own. I think we should do half days working on the house, and half days on the beach."

"Why the beach?" I asked.

Using the ladle, Sam pointed at Sia. "Water prevents her from breaking when she falls. It'll keep you from getting hurt as bad. Still stings, but not nearly the same as hitting the ground."

Sia passed Sam her plate, taking the one he'd just filled for herself. "Maybe tomorrow?"

The look Nick gave her spoke volumes. The man's adoration was clear for all to see, and his smile was almost wistful. "Thought you wanted our own room? Can't have both, dove."

"Sure I can. Not as fast, but the room will get finished, and I'll be able to entertain myself while I wait. I mean, unless you plan to stay here and build it while the guys teach me? Luke did a good job already."

Right on cue, Luke groaned, but Sam was grinning at Nick. Bel just leaned back in his chair. "We need to make sure she's not on the maps, and they don't work in this bubble."

"I need to make some adjustments, too," Sia told them. "I want to make sure that all of you can reach my aether through this new skin, and Ron's going to need a trap door for that. Plus, I'd feel a lot better if we all had some way to track each other. After the whole thing with Luke in Angelis?"

Nick pointed at her throat and the necklace that hung there. "You know how to find me."

"I do!" she countered. "But what if Ron needs you? Or what if Bel's trying to save you? There has to be a better way. I don't want any of my demons to get lost again."

She'd just lumped Luke into that group, but he didn't seem offended at all. Neither did the other guys. Everyone around the table was smiling at her like she was the most amazing thing. That was when I realized Luke was right. Sia had all of these men wrapped around her finger, as the saying went. Not that I was any better, but having it pointed out made it obvious.

Thankfully, the conversation shifted from there to other more mundane things. While we ate, they all talked, and I watched. Whatever she was doing didn't require aether, because I could see that fog when it was around now. Her charm also wasn't a conscious thing. The problem was that I couldn't be sure it wasn't simply because she was a woman.

And not just any woman, but an amazing one. Sienna Parker was beautiful in her own way, strong as she could be, and so very vibrant, just like the pictures she painted. She had the type of personality that drew the eye - and the heart. She raged hard, loved gently, and was willing to sacrifice everything for those she cared about. It was an intoxicating mix of personality, all wrapped up in a curvaceous body, shaped like nothing I'd ever seen before.

The stories I'd heard about women made them sound like soft and fragile things. Granted, those were from times gone by, and Sia was a demon woman. Literally, in some ways. Her great-grandfather was one of the most respected demons in Hell: Azrael. Her grandfather was a satyr, and her mother was a human from fey lineage. In other words, she was the culmination of so many worlds, all brought together to be something very special.

Maybe that was why I was so drawn to her? I'd seen other fairies. For that matter, there was a picture of one hanging above the mantel. None of them made my heart pause the way looking at her or Luke did. Being around either one made my hands get clammy, and my brain stall out. I also didn't have a lot of experience with these sorts of things, so maybe it was just the newness?
