SSS : Year Five(12)
Author: Avery Song

"We'd secretly throw him off a cliff."

"Yuriel!"

"Hmph." He didn't even show a hint of mercy. "As if he'd be second. I should be second."

"You want us to have a baby together?" This conversation totally went down an intriguing hole.

His face began to turn red at the question before he mumbled, "Maybe."

"Maybe," I repeated and pressed our foreheads together. "Boy or girl?"

"I-I don't know."

"Aww, now you're all shy."

"Stop teasing me," he huffed and literally picked me up off the medical table, which left me giggling.

"Where are you manhandling me to?"

"Back home," he answered. "The others are waiting for our return."

"Yuriel." He paused and lowered me back down, so I was facing him. "You know I love you, right?"

"I know," he assured me and kissed me once again. "I love you even more."

"And you’re apparently second on the list of fatherhood?"

I thought he'd get embarrassed again, but he lifted me up and kissed me firmly.

"Yup," he replied against my lips. "Gotta work hard to give Star a little brother or sister."

I almost squealed at the idea, feeling both squirmish and happy at his easygoingness on the subject. It filled me up with so much hope, especially when it felt like all of that had been lost with our future only days earlier.

Kissing him again, I wrapped my arms around his neck as he continued to hold me in his strong arms. "I know there's so much that needs to be done and another four years is on the horizon...but it feels far easier to accomplish knowing it's going to be with you by our side."

This man was going to make me ugly cry if he kept being so lovingly perfect. I nodded into his shoulder as I hugged him tighter, enjoying the slow swaying motion of his movement as we enjoyed these blissful few seconds.

The door opened, and there was a giggle.

"Look, Daddy! Silver and Yuriel are kissing!"

We broke apart and looked at the door to see Daisy's happy eyes as she came skipping into the room.

"Daisy?!" Yuriel and I said together as he lowered me back to the ground. I was able to kneel down in time to get tackled by Daisy as she jumped right into my arms.

"Silver!" she shrieked in happiness. "I missed you!"

"I missed you, too." I giggled and lifted her up.

"I feel rejected," Yuriel muttered, which only made Daisy laugh.

"I missed you as well, Yuriel. Stop being a jealous angel!"

"Oh," I dramatically stated. "Is Daisy getting a little sassy?"

"Very sassy!" She seemed happy about it. "But Daddy hates when I am. He put me in the corner for ten minutes last time! Can you believe it? Ten. Whole. Minutes!" She put her hands up and showed me her fingers to emphasize her point.

The low chuckle brought our attention back to the door to see Daniel walk into the room with a present under his arm.

"That's because Little Miss Sassy told me I should sit my butt down if I was tired from working," Daniel revealed.

Daisy pouted her lips and crossed her arms. "I still don't see the wrong in the truth!"

I snickered while Yuriel shook his head.

"Why can I imagine Star having that type of sass one day?"

"Because she would," I replied with a smile.

"Where's Star?!" Daisy inquired. "I missed her, too!"

"Uh, I think she's still sle-"

The sudden drop on my head cut me off.

"MEWR!"

"STAR!"

I had to let go of Daisy, who was wiggling right out of my hold, but she didn't drop to the ground as her wings popped out and kept her afloat while she caught Star, who leaped off my head and into Daisy's arms.

"Wee!!" Daisy squealed and began to spin them around in the air, leaving the three of us to watch them as they began their playful banter.

"Looks like we caught you two just before you were going to head out, huh?"

We focused our attention on Daniel as he stood next to us.

"Hey, Daniel," I greeted. "It's been a while."

"Hello, Daniel," Yuriel also greeted.

"It has," he replied to my comment before nodding his head to the two of us. "Nice to see the two of you are in good health."

"That we are," Yuriel replied and slipped an arm around my waist to bring me against his side. "What are you doing here on campus?"

"I came to deliver this to Silver," he admitted before presenting the neatly wrapped present in my direction. "It's from Aria."

"From Aria for me?" I inquired and accepted the golden wrapped item. The ribbon that was neatly wrapped around it was pink with gold glitter. Seeing as there was no card to it, I walked over to the medical table I'd been sitting on earlier to open it.

"What's the occasion?" Yuriel asked.

"I believe she said it was a graduation gift and for her unlocking her witch abilities? She said something along the lines of 'This is something that will aid in awakening your spiritual growth. It works well with the deck' or something along those lines," he explained.

"The deck," Yuriel repeated.

"The tarot deck," I answered as I finished unwrapping the book to reveal the front cover that stated 'WITCHES AND TAROT: THE ULTIMATE ANCIENT GUIDE TO ALL THINGS MAGICAL, Limited Edition.’

"That looks extremely rare," Yuriel acknowledged.

"Ah." Daniel looked as though he was familiar with the book. "Extremely rare. I recall that edition came out many years ago. There are only about ten."

"Ten in our town?"

"Ten in the universes," he elaborated.

Yuriel and I stared at him in shock as he continued, "It's also the elite first limited edition, which means it's the very first original one created. They later attempted to make editions two and three, but it never went into final publication since it’s missing a lot of stuff. The ten books were blessed by the witch council, so maybe that's why it was so high in value. If you wanted to sell that now, it would be worth billions."

I almost choked on air as I gasped, "Billions?!"

"Yup." He nodded his head. "I suggest you spell that baby up so it always remains in your possession with your other important valuables. If Aria gifted you something as high as that, she definitely has a higher purpose for her actions. I believe the book teaches about pendulum usage as well."

"Pendulum," I replied. "It takes a lot of concentration to use pendulum magic."

"Does it?” Yuriel looked intrigued. I nodded and returned my eyes to the book. "Surprisingly enough, it's one of the harder witch abilities to learn because pendulums can be easily manipulated. Compared to a scythe or gun that's in your hand and needs your direction to attack someone, pendulums spin and conduct magic, using their own radiating essence. That means if you're not careful and don't have the trust of the pendulum, the attack can backfire and hit you."

"Wow," Daniel and Yuriel replied.

"You discover the coolest things in witch school." I winked and hovered my hand over the book. Closing my eyes, I quickly laid down the spell that would keep it in a safe place for me to summon when I needed to, my magic flowing out of my fingertips.
