Forever and always.

Double the Vitamin D

Blue

I rubbed sleep from my eyes, rolling over to squint at the clock. The red devil numbers glared at me accusingly—just after midday.

Fuck.

With a groan, I pushed myself out of bed, attempting to reorientate myself.

Night shifts are a bitch.

When COVID-19 became a reality, I'd volunteered to go back into rotation at the local clinic, dusting off my emergency nursing skills. We'd discussed it as a family, Drake, Dane, and I. They'd agreed that I needed to go where I could help, even if it meant I'd be isolated from my family.

Mr. Henderson had moved in with us during this period, and being in the risk category, we'd had to make a call.

It sucked. I missed my guys. I missed my baby. I missed waking up in our giant bed, missed sharing the cooking. I missed sticky fingers and sweet nose kisses, passionate nights and watching my men.

I heaved myself up, heading for the shower. A few minutes under the hot flow had me perking up.

Coffee next.

In the kitchen of the small temporary rental the boys had secured for me, I turned the coffee machine on, waiting for it to heat. Stuck to the fridge with cheap magnets were the latest drawings our little Matias had done for momma.

Tears threatened as a wave of home sickness washed over me. I was only scheduled on until the end of the week. Our little township was over the peak, having locked down in an effort to prevent the spread. If all went well, I'd be home in another two weeks.

I poured my coffee, made some toast then went to the small balcony, setting up for my daily call with my family.

The phone dialed as I took my first sip, Drake immediately answering. His blonde hair was wind swept, his glorious eyes shining as he grinned down the phone.

"Hey, beautiful," he beamed at me. "How you holding up?"

My soul sighed, gloriously happy to see him. "I'm okay. A little tired after night shift but I have another few hours before I need to go in." I lifted my mug. "And I'm only starting my first cup."

"You make sure you rest, baby," he told me with a frown. "I know it's been busy but you'll be no use to anyone if you burn out."

I smiled, loving his concern, wanting to hug him through the call. "I promise."

He nodded once then changed the subject. "I'd call your boys over but I'd rather show you what they're up to."

He walked through the house and out onto our back porch, the phone jostling as he moved. "Look at this shit, Blue. You leave for three minutes and this is what that bastard does." His tone sounded amused, loving, and slightly exasperated as he turned the phone, the camera pointing out to our large backyard.

I squinted, trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

"Drake… is that… is that a playground?"

"Baby." His voice came from behind the camera, amusement dripping down the phone line. "It's a goddamned obstacle course. Dane was going stir-crazy, the kids in the neighborhood were practically climbing the walls, so he set up a training camp." He turned the phone again, showing me Mr. Henderson sitting on a rocker on the porch, grinning as he watched Dane put the kids through the course.

"Say hi to Blue," Drake called.

Mr. Henderson raised a hand, giving me a smile. "Lovely to see you, honey. Don't you worry none, we're running a tight ship here."

"I hope you're not going near the kids!" I said, suddenly worried.

"All the kids are from families in the area who have been self-isolating. They're socially distancing when here, and your husbands make 'em scrub down before and after they're allowed on the property." He grinned. "Don't you worry none, Blue. My job is to sit here and supervise from afar."

The camera turned back, finding Dane, Matias balanced on his hip as he called encouragement, sending a swarm of kids running at a climbing wall.

I laughed, watching the rambunctious bunch try to scramble up, Matt clapping his chubby baby arms as he watched.

Drake twisted the phone, his familiar grin still in place. "You wanna talk to Dane?"

I nodded. "And my bubba, please."

"Okay, baby. Hang tight." He kept the camera on himself, filling me in on the house, our finances, any gossip from the town, tossing in the occasional innuendo and salacious comment meant to tease me. Gentle reminders of how much he wanted me home.

Drake was my sunshine husband, always chatty and jovial. He'd never had a smile he didn't want to share.

"Okay, baby," he said, reaching Dane and laying a hand on Matt's tiny back. "I'll pass you over to this horn dog and our bubba. You call us when you get off tonight, we'll make sure you're nice and relaxed."

I shivered, awareness settling in. I got near constant updates on my phone. Texts about the house, photos of Matt, photos of my men, and Mr. Henderson.

And dirty, filthy sexts. Descriptions in our private group chat of how much they missed me. The occasional photo of a hard cock pressing against jeans. Photos of their naked chests or both locked in a kiss.

I'd been hornier during this time than I'd ever been in my life. And the damned men knew it. Every night before I fell into an exhausted sleep, I called them and they got me off with just their voices and filthy descriptions.

God, I ached for them.

"Mom-ma!" My little boy shook his hands excitedly as Drake handed over the phone. "Mom-ma! Mom-ma! Mom-ma!" he chanted, trying to reach for the phone.

"Hello my baby boy!" I cooed down the line, blowing kisses. "How are you, bubba?"

He gurgled happily, jumping in his daddy's arms. My arms ached to hold him as Dane held the phone close, but just out of Matt's reach. I got face time with my baby before he got distracted by the kids screaming in the background, demanding to go play with them. Drake blew me a kiss, as he picked Matt from Dane's arms.

"Love you, Blue. See you tonight."
