Last Bite (Vampire's Secret Baby Paranormal Halloween Romance)(6)
Author: Kai Lesy

The sun would be coming up before long, and while I could stay up during the daylight hours, it drained my energy. I didn’t like doing it more than one day. We weren’t meant to walk in the daylight; we were creatures of the night.

I closed my eyes and felt sleep wash over me like death.

As always, I wasn’t alone in my dreams. I floated back in time, right before the French Revolution. Isabelle was dressed up for me in one of her lavish gowns. She was the daughter of nobility, and it showed in everything about her - from her perfect bone structure to the way her blonde hair fell in curls around her face while the rest of her locks were in an elaborate updo.

Something was different in this dream, however, and I didn’t notice it at first.

I reached out to her, embraced her, my hands exploring her body. Except this wasn’t Isabelle’s body. There was roundness where she was slight, curves where she had none.

I pulled away, staring into her eyes.

No, not her eyes, Kara’s eyes.

Her curly hair straightened and fell around her shoulders. Her attire was more modern, a black gown made of silk that hugged every inch of her hourglass figure.

“What is it, my darling?”

“You’re not my Isabelle,” I growled.

“No, I’m not,” Kara answered. Her voice brushed over me like the ocean’s air, sending a chill down my spine. “I’m not Isabelle, Xavier. I’m Kara.”

“I know who you are,” I snapped.

I tried to fight it, but Kara reached out to me. She wrapped her tiny arms around me and lifted herself until our lips were touching. They were so warm, felt so real. But it couldn’t be real. This was a dream.

She sighed deeply, her chest heaving against me. “Please,” she whispered against my lips. “Please take me, Xavier. I’ve wanted this for so long.”

I knew it was wrong, and even in a dream, I felt like I was cheating on my beloved. Except Isabelle was dead and Kara was very much alive.

Her blue eyes stared deep into mine, and I felt like I was drowning.

I had to have her.

I lifted Kara off her feet and into my arms, my lips exploring her face and neck as I carried her inside my home. The home I lived in now, not the one I lived in when Isabelle had been alive. Yet another reminder that this wasn’t the past I was remembering, but a dream of something else.

A dream of something that could be.

I laid Kara on my bed, undressing her slowly. My mouth trailed over her body, devouring her with every kiss. I nibbled that supple flesh of hers, dying to take a bite. I yearned to taste her in more ways than one.

Her nipples were pink and perky, begging for my tongue. I sucked them, her back arching as she moaned, “Please, Xavier. Please.”

In the dream, my clothes practically fell off. I hardly had to do a thing before I was naked, hovering above her and staring deep into her eyes. Her legs wrapped around me, pulling me into her as our lips met.

I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to have her - I had to have all of her.

I bit her lower lip, eliciting a squeal from her. It wasn’t a sound of pain, but one of pleasure as I drank the blood that flowed from her lip. It had been so long since I’d tasted a human, and she tasted amazing.

I grew harder against her body, and with one fluid movement, I thrust into her. She cried out, her eyes widening as I stretched and filled her. Her nails dug into my back as her body rose to meet my every thrust.

“Yes, yes,” she whimpered, her chest heaving as she breathed heavily. “Don’t stop. Please don’t stop.”

I wasn’t anywhere near stopping.

It had been so long since I’d been with a woman intimately. This dream felt like the real thing. I wanted to savor every moment of being inside her.

Her pussy clenched around my cock, squeezing and releasing it. She was so tight, so fucking tight, I could hardly control myself. And when she came, she screamed my name and her pussy tightened even more, bringing me right to the edge myself. It took everything in me not to spill my seed inside her as she came around my cock.

My head fell forward, and Kara presented her neck to me, her eyes wide with pleading. I didn’t even have to ask; I knew what she wanted. I buried my fangs deep into her flesh, lapping at her life source and bringing her to another orgasm.

It was too much for me now. Having her blood flowing into my mouth and down my throat along with the tightness of her pussy around my cock. I came with her, shooting my load inside her as our bodies writhed in ecstasy.

This isn’t a dream, it can’t be, I thought.

Just as I finished coming, I bolted upright in bed. I was alone, of course. There was a warmth on my belly, and as I expected, I’d come in my sleep. That had never happened to me before, not since I’d been turned. I hopped from the bed and hurried to the bathroom I’d built connected to the bedroom, but not before checking the time.

It was just after nine in the morning, still hours and hours away from dusk. And I was up for good.

I turned on the water in the bathtub, letting it fill with steaming water. The bath was large enough for an orgy, but it was just me, as always. I climbed into the warm water, letting it envelop me as I closed my eyes.

I swear I could still taste her sweet blood on my lips.

It was just a dream, Xavier. You need to calm the hell down. She’s just a girl, a human girl, at that.

She’s off limits.

Kara

“Yes, Xavier!” I cried out in my sleep, loud enough that it woke me up. I sat up in bed, my bed, still trembling from the orgasms I’d had in my sleep.

It was a dream, had to be. But if so, why did I feel the aftereffects of the climax? I’d never come so hard in my life, not from masturbation or anything else. How was it possible to feel all that from a dream?

I replayed the dream in my head, frowning. He kept calling me Isabelle in the beginning, which seemed so random. And the garb I was wearing at first was beautiful and historic, reminding me of Marie Antoinette. Where did all of that come from, I wondered.

I looked at the time. It was just after nine in the morning.

“Holy crap,” I muttered, wiping away the sleep from my eyes. My legs still felt like jelly, but I needed to get moving. I was going in early to start training before the restaurant opened. Where I’d probably see Xavier if all went well.

With a smile on my face, I hopped from bed and proceeded to get ready for work. Halloween was a few days away, and thanks to the dream, I had a brilliant idea for my costume. Julia had told me that the restaurant hosted an annual Halloween ball, which I’d probably have to work, but maybe I’d get to dress up.

I pulled my hair back and applied just a touch of makeup to freshen up before running down the stairs. My mother, as usual, was sitting at the kitchen table with her crossword puzzle. “You were out late last night, Kara.”

“Really? Those are the first words you’re going to say to me, Mom? No good morning or congrats on landing your dream job?”

My mother sighed and put away the puzzle. Her hair had greyed so much over the last few years, and her eyes were much more tired than I remembered them being. There was a heaviness in her words these days, as if everything she said was a struggle.

“I’m sorry, Kara. You’re right.” Her voice was monotonous. “Good morning, sweetie, and I’m very proud of you. But I’m also worried about you. We still don’t know what happened to your father, and—”
