Scarred By Pain (Royal Bastards MC : New Orleans, LA #2)(16)
Author: Crimson Syn

“Are you sure this equipment won’t get us noticed?”

Jameson stood beside me, supervising that the equipment we had ordered was exactly what we needed. No more no less. The prospects were setting it up against the far back wall. A hidden panel was put into the wall to give us access and make sure we were hidden from plain sight.

“I use the 3D Model creator to make the fuel tanks and fenders on the bikes. It’s nothing that we can’t use at the bike shop.”

“What about the materials? Did you get that sorted out?”

“I’ll call Copper and Koyn tonight.”

Jameson was silent as he assessed the room. “And you sure this is full proof?”

“I wouldn’t put my name on it if it wasn’t.”

He nodded. “It’s on you, Brother. You make this work, and the first cut’s yours.”

Getting recognition from Jameson was something I didn’t expect. Shit, I hadn’t gotten recognition for my work in a long time. I couldn’t deny that having my opinion matter, was worth something to me.

“If we work hard and have enough hands on this, we could get things rolling pretty quickly.”

“Are you sure Copper will help us, with his background and all?” Copper was FBI, but he was loyal.

“He’s good at turning a blind eye. Besides, it’s Koyn who will be doing the job for us. He’s the mastermind behind the computers, I’m absolutely sure he’ll be willing to help. Besides, money talks.”

“Sounds good. Offer Koyn the deal and keep me posted on the conversation. Shit, he does this for us, and he can have anything he wants.”

While I was making deals with the Oklahoma Chapter, Tick Tock was busy tracking the black market, and taking orders. I told him to start out small until we were ready to expand. Don’t bite off more than you can chew, if not you’ll get spotted by the Feds. Not that we didn’t have our own connections in the clubs. I was pretty sure Copper would have our backs if something went down.

And then there was Whiskey over in Alabama. Whiskey was a pilot in the Air Force. He had connections with the FBI that ran deep. Shit, Jameson already owed Whiskey a favor. He was the one who had gotten me out of State. If it weren’t for him and Jameson, I’d still be locked up behind bars and eating cardboard while watching my back at every turn.

The Royal Bastards weren’t very much welcomed in State Prison. We had made a lot of enemies, and there were a few Bloody Scorpions in there with me who wanted payback for what happened to their Prez. But he was caught in a shooting that he’d initiated.

What did they expect?

Of all the sons of bitches to have watched my back, it was Colt. I knew he’d done it for Jameson, but he’d put out word that no one was to lay a hand on me. He even paid the guards to keep an eye out. The Royal Bastards had my back even when shit was going down. They at least owed me that, especially after I was the one who took the fall for what happened with Jameson’s girl. I didn’t expect to ever get out, but I was wrong, and I owed him my life. Jameson was a hard fucker, brutal, but at least I knew I was on the right side.

I headed out back and made the call out to Copper. “Holy shit! When the fuck did you get out!”

“A few months ago, no thanks to you.”

“I’m sorry Brother, but you know how it is. I couldn’t make a move. I was in too deep with the Feds.”

“Well, Whiskey got me out which is what matters, right?”

“Sure thing. You still workin’ on those custom mades? Man, those were beauties.”

I nodded. “I started up a shop after Jameson named me SAA.”

“Good for you, Brother. You should come visit one day. Get out from under those swamps.”

“If only,” I smirked. “Look, I don’t want to waste time here so let me get to the point. Before I do, is this a secure line?”

“As secure as you can get.”

“Then we can talk. I need a favor.”

“Yeah, anything you need Brother. What’s up?”

“I heard your Prez is good with computers.”

He nodded slowly. “He’s been known to hack a program or two.

“Good. Jameson needs him. You think you can get me in contact with him. No questions.”

“You got it.”

Throwing Jameson’s name in usually got the job done, and in this case, I needed things done ASAP. It didn’t take long before Copper called me back, and I couldn’t help but stare at the man who appeared on camera. I couldn’t take my eyes off the scar on his forehead, a clear reminder of his past. I’d heard Koyn’s story, and his brutal and sadistic side. He deserved respect for what had happened to him and what he’d been forced to do. There was no one who understood scars like that, better than me.

“Knuckles.”

“Koyn.”

“Copper here says you got something you need to talk to me about.”

“More like offering you a deal.”

Koyn looked over at Copper and he then signaled for me to proceed. “We need a hack. We’ve got to order some supplies while staying under the radar. And we need said products to be distributed at times when no one is around, if you know what I mean.”

“How deep am I getting into with this hack?”

“As deep as you can get. We’re building arsenals.”

Koyn whistled. “That’s deep.”

“You sure about this Knuckles?”

“I’m putting my name on it, which means I’m sure. I’m not going back to that hell hole, Copper. So if I’m gonna do this, I’m gonna have all my areas covered. Besides, we’ve got a hefty sum waiting on you if you agree.”

“What does the job entail?” Koyn interjected.

“You smudge numbers when we ask. We place an order, you go in after the check has cleared, and instead of sending us fifty pieces, we get five-hundred. Then all you have to do is reroute shipments and make sure they arrive before sunrise.”

Koyn contemplated the deal for a long time. I thought he wouldn’t agree until I heard Copper curse under his breath. “We’ll do it, but we don’t want the money,” he stated. “Money I’ve got plenty of.”

“Okay then, ask and I’m pretty sure Jameson will adhere to whatever you want.”

“We’ll take a favor.”

“A favor?”

“Yes. I do this for you, and later on when I need one of you, you pay that favor back.”

I needed Koyn for this, it wasn’t an option. So, I took the deal. Shit, I mean how big of a favor could it be.

When I hung up with Copper and Koyn I contacted Tick Tock. “What are the highest bidders?”

“AK47s and Colts are selling pretty high end right now.”

“Then that’s what we market.”

“You know you’re pretty good at all this.”

“It’s all about knowing what your customer wants.”

“You should get into custom makes.”

I nodded. “I’ll think about it.”

“Good job, Knuckles. Always knew you were sharp up there.”

“You gettin’ mushy on me Tick Tock.”

“Fuck you.”
