Primal Wrath(5)
Author: Piper Davenport

“I don’t need a ride.”

“Sundance says you need a ride,” he argued. “So, you need a ride.”

I hissed out a curse. “How much of the funeral have I missed?”

“They’re heading to the gravesite now.” He frowned. “Do you have to get bags from baggage claim?”

“No. How fast can you drive?”

“Fast.”

“Let’s go,” I ordered, waving my hand.

I followed him out to one of the club trucks, and I knew it was one of the club trucks because it was familiar to me. Wrath used it regularly when he had to haul shit to and fro because he was one of the brothers who refused to purchase an alternative vehicle to his bike. His argument had been that he hated being caged in, but on the off-chance he had to be, the club had trucks he could borrow.

Pulling up to the gravesite, I could see the ceremony was already in full swing, so Healy and I hung back. We snuck to the seats in the back and sat down as quietly as possible.

The ceremony had just ended when Scooby saw me and made his way over to me, leaning down to kiss my cheek. “Thanks for coming.”

I gave him a watery smile. “I wouldn’t miss it.”

Scooby was Scrappy’s biological brother, and he was also one of my best friends. The problem with seeing him, however, meant I could no longer hold my composure and I burst into tears.

“Are you fuckin’ kiddin’ me?” Wrath growled, and before I could register what was going on, I was lifted out of my seat and thrown over his shoulder.

“Wrath!” I squealed, pounding on his back. “Put me down.”

Wrath faced Scooby keeping me firmly where I was. “You! I’m gonna fuckin’ deal with you later.”

“Wrath,” I screamed again. “I’m going to rip your dick off if you don’t put me down.”

“Swear to Christ, Sierra, you need to shut your goddamn mouth.”

“Wrath! What the hell are you doing?” Raquel bellowed, running toward him. “Put her down.”

“Bitch—”

I pinched his side and squealed. “Don’t you dare call my best friend a bitch!”

“Wrath, put her down,” Sundance growled.

“No!” Wrath snapped like a petulant child.

Scooby, Orion, Sundance, and Jekyll surrounded us, along with a few other bikers. Some I knew and a couple appeared to be new recruits.

“Out of my way,” Wrath bellowed.

“Wrath, we can talk… later,” I said. “Just put me down.”

“I’m not fuckin’ lettin’ you out of my sight again,” Wrath avowed. “You might try to write me another goddamn letter.”

“I’m here for a week, you big lug,” I lied. I wasn’t about to tell him I was there for longer. “I promise I won’t leave again without saying goodbye.”

Wrath adjusted me on his shoulder, giving my ass a hard smack.

“Honey, seriously,” I rasped. “I can’t breathe. Let me down.”

I squeezed his side again.

“Please,” I begged, and Wrath lowered me gently to the ground, but didn’t release me completely.

“You fuckin’ left,” he accused.

I nodded. “I know. I didn’t have a choice. Let’s get through today and we can talk.”

He scowled, and I laid my hand on his chest. “I’m not going anywhere for the moment. I promise, we’ll talk.”

“I’m taking you back to the cabin. Now.”

“That’s fine.”

“On my bike.”

I let out a quiet gasp. “I don’t think we’re there yet, Wrath.”

“We fucking are, Sierra,” he growled, grasping my hand. “Come on.”

He dragged me to his bike, shoving a helmet on my head, ignoring any further protests, or the fact I was wearing a skirt.

“Hike it up between your legs,” he instructed. “Watch those pipes.”

“Wrath,” I breathed out in frustration.

“You wearin’ panties?”

I scoffed. “Of course I’m wearing panties.”

“Then hike that skirt up, baby, and climb on.”

“This is way too much,” I grumbled.

“Get your ass on the goddamn bike, Sierra.”

I scowled at him. “If you’re going to talk to me like that, I’m going to go back with the new recruit.”

His hand slid around my waist. “You’re not goin’ anywhere with anyone other than me, so get that idea out of your head right now. And you know you’re not offended by how I talk to you, so you can also stow your offense deep down in that pussy because I’m gonna fuck it out of you later.”

I shivered. “You’re not gonna fuck anything outta me later. Use one of your whores for that.”

“Look at me,” he ordered.

I stared at his patch.

“Sierra.”

“What?”

“Look at me.”

“No.”

“Jette.”

I gasped, meeting his eyes. “You know?”

“Yeah, baby, I know.”

“For how long?”

“Not long,” he admitted, giving me a gentle squeeze. “Sundance filled me in after an incident at Nocturn.”

“What incident?”

“That’s not important right now.”

I bit my lip. “How much did he tell you?”

“You’re the only one who can clarify that. Did you really tell people your last name was Smith?”

I nodded. “Sort of. But they’re all FBI, so they found me out pretty quick.”

“I think the fact you’re a shit liar woulda done that.”

“Yeah, well, I’ve had extensive FBI training in coercion tactics since you last saw me.”

“And for the record,” he said, sliding his hand to my neck. “There are no fuckin’ whores in my bed. There’s been no one other than you since the night you picked my lock.”

“Shut the fuck up.”

“You’re mine, baby.” He kissed my temple. “Gonna prove it. Now, get your goddammed ass on my goddammed bike.”

I got my goddammed ass on his goddammed bike.

Sierra

“Wrath, you need to be with your brothers,” I said as I followed him up the stairs of the club cabin.

“I need peace,” he countered. “You’re my peace.”

“I’m not going to sleep with you.”

“Yeah, you are.”

“No, I’m not.”

He paused on the stairs, turning to face me. “Let me be clear. We’re not gonna fuck tonight, Sierra. You’re gonna take a long hot soak in my tub, then you’re gonna put on one o’ my tees and curl up against me so I can hold you. We’re just gonna sleep.”

“We are?”

“Yeah.”

Jesus, the man could be seriously sweet when he wanted to be.

“I’m gonna soak, with wine and food,” I corrected. “It’s been a long fucking day.”

“I can make that happen.”

“Wrath!”

We turned to find Wyatt’s brother, Teddy, whom the club called ‘Shotgun,’ ambling toward us. Wrath walked down the steps and met him halfway with a grin. “Hey, buddy, how ya doin’?”
