Six of a Kind (Kind Brothers #7)
Author: Sandi Lynn

INTRODUCTION

Jackson

The day I found my wife in bed with a friend on our first wedding anniversary, I packed my bags, left, and never looked back. That was the day I promised I’d never get involved in another relationship again.

Nine years later, I had still held to my promise. I was a bachelor, living my life the best way I knew how between saving patients’ lives, hanging with my family, and having more one-night stands than a person should.

Then I met a woman in Cabo. A gorgeous and sexy woman that I’d been eyeing since I saw her sitting by the hotel pool. We spent one night together. What were the chances we’d ever see each other again? Slim to none, right? Wrong. She showed up at my medical center for an interview for the open OB/GYN position.

I didn’t want to hire her. I had my reasons—one being that she lied about her name when we’d met. But my brothers wanted her. The vote was two against one, and she was in. Every time she looked at me with those seductive blue eyes, I was reminded of that night, and I hated her for the imprint she’d left on me.

Jackson Kind was an arrogant, self-absorbed neurosurgeon I shared one night with. I had no clue he was a doctor, and I would never have slept with him.

My heart was already broken by one, and I swore off sex with doctors for life. I should have walked out of the medical center when I found out he owned it because I couldn’t stop thinking about him since our night together in Cabo.

Every time he looked at me with those smoldering blue eyes, I hated him even more for how he made my body feel.

CHAPTER 1

“We’re going to live it up in Cabo,” Conner said as we sat in our seats and drank our scotch.

I glanced at my watch. “One more hour until we land.”

“Six days of uninterrupted bliss.” Nathan grinned. “Whatever will we do with ourselves.”

“Relax, drink, and pick up as many women as possible in those six days.” Conner smiled.

“Remember the rules,” I said. “No last names, no saying where we’re from, and no telling what we do for a living. We don’t need anyone trying to track us down when we get back.”

“Like that chick who stalked Nathan after we came back from Belize a couple of years ago.” Conner laughed.

“Man. That girl was crazy,” Nathan said. “I couldn’t believe it when I walked into the exam room, and she was sitting on the table wanting me to give her breast implants.”

“The craziest part was when she told you to make them exactly how you wanted them to be.” I laughed.

“It isn’t funny, bro. She was nuts. Remember, she got a hold of my phone number and address.”

“I remember.” I smirked. “That’s why you never give your full name and tell these women what we do when we’re on vacation.”

When our plane landed in Cabo, our pilot and flight attendant handed us our luggage, and we climbed into the car, waiting to take us to our hotel. After we arrived and checked in, we were taken up to our suites located on the hotel's top floor.

“As soon as the two of you change, meet me in my room, and we’ll head down to the pool,” I said.

After the bellman dropped Conner’s and Nathan’s luggage in their rooms, he brought in mine. Pulling some cash from my wallet, I handed it to him.

“Thank you, sir.” I smiled at him.

“You’re welcome. Thank you, Dr. Kind.” He gave me a nod. “I hope you enjoy your stay.”

“I definitely will.”

We headed down to the pool, looked around, and found three lounge chairs together that weren’t in use.

“Good afternoon, gentlemen. My name is Emme, and I’ll be serving you today. May I get you something from the bar?”

“I’ll have a mojito.” I smiled.

“We’ll have the same,” Conner spoke.

“I’m going to hit the pool,” Nathan said as he stood up.

“Me too. You coming, bro?” Conner glanced over at me.

“Yeah. Why not.”

As my brothers jumped into the pool, I stood up from my chair, took off my shirt, and set my drink down on the pool's edge.

“Damn, this feels good.” I smiled.

“It sure does,” Nathan spoke as he went under the water.

I was making my way over to where my drink was when I saw a woman walk over and take a seat in the lounger next to mine. Five-foot-six, brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, square-shaped sunglasses that framed her face, and sun-kissed skin. Before she sat down, she removed her cover-up that revealed a fire-engine red bikini and a toned, taut body with the tits of a goddess.

“See something you like?” Nathan made his way over to me and placed his hand on my back.

“Yeah. I think I do.” The corners of my mouth curved upward. “She’s off-limits to the two of you.”

“Got it, bro. But I hate to break it to you. There’s no way she’s single. No way in hell.” He patted my back and swam away.

I stared at her through my black Ray-bans as I sipped my drink and waited to see if anyone else would join her.

“Excuse me, miss?”

She looked up from her iPad and stared straight at me.

“Can you please throw me that towel on my chair?”

She reached over, grabbed the towel, and tossed it over.

“Thank you.” I smiled.

Climbing out of the pool, I dried off and sat down.

“I appreciate it.”

“You’re welcome,” she spoke as she stared down at her iPad.

“May I get you something to drink?” Emme walked over and asked her.

“The mojitos are excellent.” I held up my drink as I glanced over at her.

With a slight turn of her head, she looked at me through her shades.

“I’ll have a margarita.”

“Sir, would you like another mojito?” Emme asked.

“Yes. Thank you. I’m sure the margaritas are great too.”

“They are. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I would like to get back to reading.”

“Of course. I’m sorry to have bothered you.”

When my brothers emerged from the pool, they grabbed their towels and dried off.

“Come on. Let’s go paddleboarding before we have to get ready for dinner,” Conner spoke.

“I think that’s a great idea,” the woman sitting next to me spoke.

“Right? Would you like to join us?” Nathan asked with a smile.

“Uh, no. But thanks for the invite.”

Emme walked over, handed me my mojito, and handed the woman with an attitude her margarita.

“Here, I guess I won’t be needing this.” I held out my drink to her. “Take a taste, and the next time I see you, I’d like to know what you think.”

“Thank you.” She reached over and took the drink from my hand. “But I don’t think we’ll be seeing each other again.” Her brow raised over her sunglasses.

I laughed and shook my head as I grabbed my shirt, and my brothers and I walked away.

“Damn. I could cut that tension with a knife.” Conner laughed.
