Freak (Royal Devils MC #3)(7)
Author: Erin Trejo

“What the hell?” she screams and drops down next to me. “What the hell did he do?”

“Stop, Abby. He’s lost control. We need to be careful around him and I need a morning-after pill.”

“He didn’t,” she says through gritted teeth.

“He did and he will again. Why did I mess with him?” I ask as hot tears fall down my cheeks. I should have known better. I shouldn’t have done that. I know that club members are dangerous. I’ve always known! Hell, my own father is in one.

Freak

“I hear things went well,” Grave says, pulling my attention to him. I nod my head and take a long pull from my beer.

“Yeah, Switch had a blast.”

“Heard you weren’t far behind.” His voice changes. It’s become a little angrier now. Fucking Switch. He must have told him.

“It wasn’t bad.”

“You fucked one of the King’s old ladies, Freak!” There it is.

“In fairness, I thought she was Dodge’s.”

“In fairness? You’re fuckin’ kiddin’ me right now.” Shaking my head, I nearly laugh. It wasn’t that big of a deal. So what? I fucked her? No harm in that.

“Grave, she ain’t sayin’ shit, brother,” I add.

“Do you know that? Is she dead, Freak? Did you clean up witnesses? No, you fuckin’ didn’t! You let her walk, brother!” His anger is warranted to a point. Sure, I shouldn’t have fucked the girl, and had I known she didn’t belong to Dodge, I probably wouldn’t have but what’s done is done and hey, they don’t call me Freak for nothing.

“She ain’t talkin’. If she were, Ash would already be standin’ on my doorstep, Grave.”

“Nelson called. The guys are askin’ questions about where the fuck Dodge is,” he tells me as he runs a hand through his hair.

“And?”

“And if she gets put on the spot, you think she won’t crack?” Fuck, his attitude is pissing me off a little.

“Why would she get put on the spot? You think they’re gonna randomly pull her aside and question her?” I say, raising an eyebrow.

“Why not?”

“Why the fuck would they?” Grave blows out a breath when Preacher and Psycho walk in. They look between us before Grave fills them in. Psycho high fives me and Preacher gives me a fist bump. Grave is still seething in his seat worried about nothing.

“We don’t need the blowback,” he says.

“We ain’t gonna get the blowback, brother. It’s all good.” Nodding his head, I pull out a joint and light it up.

“So, you bagged the old lady? She hot?” Preacher asks, making me chuckle.

“Fuckin’ sexy as hell. Don’t know what the hell she’s doin’ with any of those fucks.” The guys all laugh but it’s true. She doesn’t even look like a biker chick.

“That doesn’t mean you stick your cock in her,” Grave adds under his breath. I smirk.

“She needed a cock and I gave it to her. Don’t go gettin’ jealous on me. You’re the one that decided to settle on one pussy for life, Grave.” I love fucking with him about Silla. We all love her to death, but I can’t control myself when it comes to making fun of him.

“Fuck you.”

“Nah, I got fucked pretty good last night.” Grave flips me off, Psycho punches my shoulder, and Preacher laughs as I turn and walk out of the office. I head toward the bar when my cell rings. Sliding it out of my pocket I answer.

“Yeah?”

“Hey, Freak.” Fuck and double fuck! I’m not in the mood today.

“What do you need?” I have to keep this short and to the point. After what I heard from Jasper, I don’t know how much I want to do with her right now.

“I need a place to stay,” she says softly. Oh, like fuck I will.

“Can’t help you there. Try a Motel 6.”

“Freak, come on. It’s only for a few days. I don’t have the money to go to a motel,” she says, sounding almost whiny. It grates on my nerves. I grit my teeth and crack my neck.

“You ain’t been around here in years, Linny. What the hell do you want, for real?”

“I really need a place to stay. I was working and shit went down. I had to leave my apartment. I’m just waiting on my last check and I’ll be out of there. I promise, Freak,” she nearly begs. I blow out a breath and glance around the room.

“You’ll have to talk to Grave. He’s the prez now. I can’t make that choice.”

“Okay. I’ll come talk to him.” Yeah, I bet she will.

“Good. I gotta go,” I tell her, trying to put some distance between us even over the damn phone.

“Okay. Hey, thanks, Freak.” I hang up before anything further can be said. Bringing my joint back to my lips, I inhale once more before setting it in the ashtray on the bar. Walking around, I grab the bottle of whiskey and pour a glass. This is going to be shit, I can feel it.

“What’s got you day drinkin’?” Jasper asks when he spots me.

“Fuckin’ Linny.” He chuckles and I want to snap his old fucking neck.

“She still callin’?”

“She needs a place to stay. Told her I ain’t got one so now she’s comin’ to ask Grave,” I tell him. Jasper starts laughing harder, so hard in fact that he begins to cough. “That’s what your old ass gets, you bastard!” I point at him.

“Shit’s gonna hit the fan if she comes back here, brother.”

“How so?”

“Your sister ain’t ugly like you Freak. Half the brothers in here are gonna try to ride that ass around the clubhouse,” he says. Shit, he’s probably right. Linny wasn’t ugly the last time I had seen her but hell’s it’s been years and she was a user.

“She’s off-fuckin’-limits if she comes here,” I growl. Jasper laughs again.

“That girl is the poster child for club whore, Freak. You might as well stick an open sign on her ass.” Fucking hell, he might be right. After all that he’s told me about Linny, I could see that shit happening.

“Hey, Freak. Have you seen Psycho?” Loralai’s voice pulls my attention. When I look over at her, her face looks panicked.

“You okay, darlin’?” She shakes her head slowly, her eyes wide. I move toward her quickly, resting my hand on her shoulder.

“No. I’m scared, Freak.”

“What’s wrong?” I ask, before looking over my shoulder and calling out to Switch as he strolls into the room. “Switch! Go in the office and get Psycho!”

“Freak.” Loralai says my name and I can hear the pain in her voice. “My water broke.”

“Your what broke?”

“My water broke!” she says a little louder.

“Just get another one,” I tell her casually. She grabs my shoulder and nods toward the floor.

“Oh fuck. Is it supposed to do that?” I ask, a little panicked now myself.

“Not yet! It’s too early, Freak!” I wrap my arm around her shoulders when Psycho comes storming from the office followed by the other guys. He sees my arm around her and loses his shit. Grabbing me by the front of my shirt, he jerks me away from her, shoving me into the table behind us. I stumble but catch myself.
