Owners Club (Texas Tornados, #4)(15)
Author: Britney Bell

Three minutes to go. Tyler Beckett is in the wildcat position as quarterback, and the snap goes live as it’s hiked to him. He sets up to pass and looks deep down the field to his receivers. Drew Elliott is open for a split second, but it’s too tight of a window, so Tyler decides to throw a short pass to Reed Anderson for the first down. Progress. That is what we have to keep doing.

Tyler is getting married in a few months, and I had actually been dreaming of taking Mazie with me as we celebrate his and Jordan’s union together.

I’m focused on the game, but the Owners Club went silent. What happened? I turn to see, and I can’t believe it. She is here. She came. In two large steps, I’m lifting her into my arms and twirling her around. When I sit her feet back on the ground, I place her face between my hands and kiss her, conveying all my love for her with my tongue mating with hers.

Bryce clears his throat behind me, and I break the kiss. “Hello, Dr. Hard. It’s good to see you,” he greets her.

“Everyone out!” I loudly demand over the chatter that returned in the box. “Now!” The people immediately follow my direction. Bryce is the last one leaving but turns around just before he reaches the door and jogs back to the food table and snags a few more finger foods from a tray. Then he holds them up to us to signal cheers and then walks out the door. The door clicks closed. I walk over to it and lock it, then walk over to the window and hit the button to turn the glass on blackout mode. We can see out, but no one can see in. Now, to my girl.

Her amber eyes sparkle with excitement. She stretches out her arm for me to take her hand. “Grant,” she begins in a tender tone, “I got your email.” And I look up to meet her eyes from my perusal of her body, still in shock that she is actually here. “I love you too.”

My reaction needs no words as I claim her lips. She is mine, and I am hers. She’s here because she loves me and wants to take the next steps in life with me.

I bend and scoop her into my arms, carrying her over to the couch, and gently lay her down just like the precious cargo that she is. The noise from the fans cheering echoes through the room, but all my focus is on Mazie as I lean in towards her to hover over her delicate face.

“I am so damn glad you are here. I didn’t think you were coming.” I push her hair away from her face and cup her chin in my palm.

“Yeah, sorry, I made it to the airport in time, but on the car ride over here, we got stuck in traff...” My lips are on hers before the last word can escape her mouth.

With a few tugs, pulls, and shifts, she’s naked before me, and I do the same to rid my own clothes, taking an extra minute to cover my length. Her eyes follow my every move, hungry for what’s to come next.

One pass of my dick over her wet folds to coat the barrier and I push in ever so slowly, kissing her as I fill her. She takes all of me. Our kiss becomes fevered. The in and out movements of my hips in order to bring us to the release we are both desperate for becoming harsh and quick. I pound into her so hard, breaking the kiss, and I watch her body bounce before me.

“Grant, please,” she begs for the feeling of an explosion inside her.

“I’m right here with you. Come for me, Mazie. Squeeze me. Love me.” We erupt at the same time while loud cheers ring out in victory all around the stadium.

The game commentators in the background on the TVs yell into their mics, announcing the Texas Tornados’ touchdown which just solidified their playoff seat.

Life is good. No, life is great, and I can’t wait to experience it all with this magnificent woman.

Epilogue

Mazie

Today is the day I get to meet all the players, coaches, and generally everyone from the franchise. To say I am nervous is an extreme understatement. Grant explained that it’s the quarterback, Tyler, and his former massage therapist’s wedding. Although, I highly doubt she is done being his masseuse at home.

“Stop bouncing your leg. Everything will be just fine. There is no need to get all worked up.”

“I just want to make a good first impression. Should I have worn the pink dress instead of this blue one?”

“Sweetheart, you look stunning in either dress, and they will love you, no matter what you are wearing. If they don’t, I’ll simply fire them,” he reassures me as he leans in for a quick kiss on the cheek.

The car pulls up to a giant mansion that’s the wide receiver, Drew’s. It’s stunning, and the white with hints of blue and green flower arrangements on either side of the door are a snapshot of how dazzling the wedding will be.

Drew greets us, and his lovely girlfriend, Avery. I hope to God no one expects me to remember all these names. There are a lot of people here.

“Come on in and take your seat, the ceremony is about to start.” Avery directs us to the backyard. We make it to the doorway and Grant introduces me to Reed, who is another receiver, and he ushers us to our seat.

More greetings and introductions ensue. Zane, a defensive end, and his girlfriend, Lily, are directly behind us, and to our left is Taylor, a tight end, and their friend Peyton. Lily explained that the wedding coordinator, Harper, was their friend also and they were saving her an empty chair on the outside of our row.

We are all chatting, and Grant was right, they are all so nice. Before I know it, the wedding march song rings out and we all stand as the bride enters. Wow! She is so elegant in a sleeveless, A-Line gown with little pearl beads and floral appliques cascading down the tulle skirt. It’s classy and unique with a hidden skirt slit, revealing her pointed, white heels with a crisscross strap at the ankle.

I make a quick turn to see the groom’s face, and just as expected, his look conveys all the love he has for his bride with a wide smile and tears of joy puddling in his eyes.

Grant skates his fingers over my palm and interlocks our fingers together, bringing my hand to his lips to place a soft kiss on the back of it. It’s a sweet, quiet gesture, one that lets me know what he’s feeling and thinking. One day we will be standing under that archway of flowers at the end of that very isle to publicly share our vows to each other and pledge a life together. I respond by meeting his gaze and mouthing the words, “I love you.”

Grant

It’s taken Mazie a good six months to get everything settled at her new doctor’s office here in Dallas. Apparently, she already had several locations picked out before I asked her to move in with me, and she just needed to see them in person before deciding where she wanted to move her practice to. Betty didn’t want to work for anyone else and jumped at Mazie’s offer for her to come and work for her at the new place.

As I left the house this morning, I kissed Mazie goodbye on my way to the airport to fly out to a business meeting. I got in the car service’s waiting car and finished typing out a very important email and set it up to send.

Subject: One Question

Mazie,

Here we are again being uncommon. But we wouldn’t be us if we followed the typical protocols of life.

This past year has been the very best, and that’s not because my team went deep in the playoffs. No, it’s all because of you. Waking up every morning with you laying next to me gives me a sense of peace. The journey that we’ve been through so far has taught me how to love unconditionally, and I want that for eternity.
