I come up behind her with the towel stretched out and wrap her in it. Her head falls back to rest on my chest, and I bend and scoop her up in my arms to take her to my bed.

Even when I lay her down, she continues to hold the towel tight around her. My touching of her hands loosens her hold that’s hiding her magnificent body from my eyes. It’s like I’m opening a wrapped present that I know will be a precious gift to me when I remove it slowly. Her closed eyes blink open to see me.

“When you are in my room and in my bed, I always want you completely naked. I don’t even want a towel between us.”

“Okay.” Her reply is almost a whisper. She looks exhausted, which is disappointing because I could definitely go another round.

“Come here and lay on this side,” I say as I pull back the covers. Then I tuck them around her and kiss her forehead. “Good night, sweetheart.” I wipe the fallen hairs away from her face, staring at her already sleeping form.

I only have one week with this exquisite woman before I have to leave and go back to reality, and I’m damn sure I am going to make the most of it. I know she’ll be working through the weekdays, so that means I only have two full days and six nights to see where this goes.

How long can I stand here and stare at her before I seem like a creep? I’ve never been mesmerized by anyone like this before. It’s caught me off guard, and I won’t let her know it, but she’s a little intimidating. I mean, she cuts guy’s balls off for a living. Sweat breaks out across my forehead at the thought.

It’s time for a shower and to get a grip. I’m the owner of a multibillion-dollar franchise; there is no reason to be feeling like this. But why does she have this effect on me when no one else ever has? I would like to say that it’s because I’ve seen her vulnerable and frail, like a hurt animal that needed to be taken care of when she needed help off the helicopter. Then, these feelings started to be more intense during our first conversation just after she’d had her hands all over my best friend's ball sack.

The fact is, I like her. I probably even more than like her. Am I ready to go to the next step with someone? Hell, would she even be willing to? She has her medical practice here in Florida, and I live in Texas. I’m not totally sure how all that would work, but I’m not going to think about it just yet. For now, I’m going to live day by day and just be in the moment with Mazie.

Chapter 16

Mazie

One week, that’s all I’ve got. One week of unbelievable sex. Over the weekend we played house on Grant’s boat. Ha, who am I kidding, it’s not a boat, it's a floating mansion. Yeah, my net worth is up there, but it’s not anywhere near the scale of Grant’s. We haven’t talked about it, nor is it my business to ask, but I will enjoy the fruits of his labor for the week I have him.

I am supposed to go to work tomorrow, being a Monday and all. Grant doesn’t know it yet, but I already called Betty and told her to push all my patient visits to next week. I already missed out on time that I could have been spending with Grant by having my head up my ass, and I’m not going to waste these last few days with him.

The sway of the wooden boat dock under my feet makes the walk back to the yacht from a morning out to get coffee at the pier unsteady, and Grant takes my hand in his to make sure I make it safely. I can feel the waves crashing into the pillars. That’s what I think Grant is to me. He’s my pillar sunk deep in the ocean floor to hold me steady. He protects me from floating away.

“Thank you for agreeing to go fishing with me today. I’m glad you get to experience it before you have to go back to work.”

“Actually, I’m yours all week, if you’ll have me. I called and rescheduled my appointments.”

“Really!” Grant picks me up in a bear hug and swings me around. “That’s the best news. Of course I’ll have you. That’s not even a question.”

Grant wanted me to learn how to fish with the help of one of his many guides. Fish are beautiful, and I know that I can touch the insides of bodies, but I am not inclined to touch a fish, especially without gloves on. Ewe, gross.

We floated for a few hours offshore and baited the hooks. Well, Grant and the guide speared the smelly, decaying fish on the hooks. Then they cast the lines. We’ve been waiting for a while and nothing has happened yet. Now we are just sitting here watching the ripples glide over the water and taking in the sun, in pure silence.

You know when you have found a good match whether it’s in a friendship or a loving, caring deep connection with someone when you can sit there for an extended amount of time and just be. Words do not have to fill the silence, and you are both content and happy to just be in each other’s company. It’s nice. I’ve never shared this with anyone before.

Ding, ding, ding, the bell on the tip of the fishing pole rings out. “Fish on!” our guide yells and rushes towards the poles in the holders that line the railing of the boat.

“Sweetheart, that’s yours. Come on,” Grant encourages me to pick up my pole. “I’ve got you.” He comes up behind me, wraps his arms around me and teaches me how to set the hook and reel the monster fish in.

With an enormous heave of the pole, I start reeling in the thick fishing line as fast as my hand and arm will go. Lord, this is a workout.

“Okay, let him run for a bit. Tire him out.” I stop reeling, and I sadly watch the line head back out to sea. I feel like I am losing all the work I just put into it. “Alright, go again. Reel some more.”

This time it’s a little easier, I can feel the fish giving in, and is allowing me to drag his weight in. I can actually see him pop up in the distance and then go back under to fight some more. He’s madder than heck. I guess I would be too if I got hooked and was being dragged against my will, probably to my death.

“I’ve got the net. Swing him over this way,” the guide instructs, and Grant braces his strong legs on either side of mine as his arms help me guide the pole over towards the net to bring the fish into the boat.

As soon as the fish lands in the net, I can’t help but jump up and down. I am certain my bountiful breasts are bouncing all over the place without a sports bra on, but I don’t give a damn. I’m excited. I did it. I caught my first fish, and it’s huge. I look over to Grant to see he is clearly enjoying the show as his eyes follow the movements of my breasts. He breaks his hypnotic spell from the sway of my chest all too quickly by wrapping his arms around my neck to hug me fiercely. His watching me and me knowing that he enjoys what he sees gives me a sense of pride. Pride in myself. Pride that I can give him pleasure.

“You caught that thing just in the nick of time, and I have big plans for dinner this evening. The chef I hired is already cooking and awaiting your catch. He had a backup plan in case we didn’t catch anything, but bringing a guide along with us pretty much guaranteed at least one catch of the day.”

While the captain charters us back to shore, Grant ushers me to get cleaned up and gives me instructions to rest for an hour and to meet him in the galley at 6 pm.

I wish he could join me in the shower, and I certainly tried to bring my vixen side out to convince him, but he said he had things to prepare for dinner. With a quick kiss on my cheek and a whisper of warning for getting him worked up, he turns and leaves.
