TORE (Sidewinders : Generations #2)(3)
Author: Kat Mizera

“And if she doesn’t?” I asked quietly.

Jamie smiled and winked. “Not gonna happen.”

He shut the door behind him, and the three of us were quiet for a minute. I didn’t know what the hell I was supposed to say or do, so I opted to keep it simple.

“I could use a drink,” I said.

“Me too.” Josh opened the door and motioned for Margot and me to walk out ahead of him.

We made our way to the bar, and I ordered a shot of Jack Daniel’s for myself and glanced at Margot. “Champagne cocktail?” I asked her, since I knew that was her favorite.

She nodded. “Yes, please.”

I turned to Josh. “What’s your pleasure?”

“The two of you, naked,” he muttered before turning to the bartender and saying, “Crown Royal, on the rocks.”

“This isn’t going to work if you’re still mad at me,” I blurted out to Margot.

She turned those big brown eyes to me and shook her head. “I was never mad at you. You don’t even get it.”

“Then explain it to me,” I said.

“Yes, please explain, because the two of you bickering wasn’t part of my fantasy.” Josh didn’t appear at all reluctant to interfere in our conversation.

“You’re too important to me for us to have gotten caught up in the romance of the wedding,” she said, ignoring Josh. “And I know you, Tore. You change girlfriends like underwear, and I couldn’t stand to be your next conquest in a long line of conquests.”

“You think I’d do that with you?” I demanded, throwing up my hands. “Really?”

“Apparently, she does.” Josh took a sip of his drink, watching the two of us in obvious amusement.

Part of me wanted to tell him to fuck off and give us a minute. Another part of me wanted to laugh, because his wry commentary was pretty funny.

“How the hell would I know?” Margot asked. “You went from zero to sixty without any warning.”

“If you think sixty is nothing but kissing,” I scowled, “you’re in for a hell of a night.”

Margot pursed her lips. “Why are you so damn frustrating? I don’t understand why you kissed me at all when—”

Oh, hell, this was going nowhere fast. I’d wanted to do this since the last time we’d had this argument, but this time I had a feeling she wouldn’t stop me. So I leaned down and kissed her. I wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her up against me, fastening my mouth to hers. She stiffened for a moment, but then almost wilted against me, her tongue meeting mine with undisguised need. Maybe she was mad, maybe she was horny, or maybe she was as tired as I was of fighting. Because the kiss we’d shared before had been hella good. This one was shaping up to be even better.

Just when my cock sprang into action, Josh’s face appeared in my peripheral vision, barely an inch from ours. “Excuse me… Have you two made up? Because I want to dance—with both of you.”

Margot’s eyes were a little glassy as we pulled apart, but she reached out a hand without breaking my gaze and the bartender somehow knew to put her drink in it. “I think a kiss like that qualifies as making up.”

Josh nodded and slapped a twenty-dollar bill on the bar, looking at the bartender. “Can you get the DJ to play Prince’s ‘Erotic City’?”

Three champagne cocktails later, I didn’t even remember what Tore and I had been fighting about. As we’d been standing there at the bar arguing, something Jamie had said to me in the hallway outside his office came back to me and suddenly I was tired of this game we’d been playing.

“If you keep depriving yourself of all of life’s pleasures, are you really living?” he’d asked me. “And I’m not just talking about sex. Trust me when I tell you, depriving yourself of the things you really want just leaves you feeling empty inside.” He’d kissed my forehead and left me there to decide.

So when Tore chose that moment at the bar to kiss me, I’d realized of all the things I’d deprived myself of since my daughter, Gracie, was born, Tore was the one I wanted most. And I was finally getting my chance. Well, I’d had a chance two months ago, but I’d panicked and blown it. Now I had another one and I wasn’t about to mess it up. I refused to think about the fact that it was Fantasy Night bringing us together, or that there was going to be someone else with us. All I knew was that I could touch him—and let him touch me—without guilt or repercussions. Tonight was a free pass for any damn thing I wanted to do, so I was absolutely going to do them.

The champagne was doing a good job of lowering my inhibitions, and I wasn’t nearly as nervous anymore, but I didn’t know what I was supposed to do first. Should I just announce it was time to go up to our private suite and screw? That didn’t sound sexy at all and this was supposed to be my sexual fantasy. For me, the sexiest thing ever.

“You think too much,” Josh said, spinning me around and rocking against me as if he’d read my mind. Tore had gone to get us more drinks and Tone Loc’s “Wild Thing” was playing.

“I love this song,” I said, swinging my hips. Josh pressed his groin to mine and moved with me, and we lost ourselves in the rhythm. It shouldn’t have, but it surprised me to feel his erection growing as we danced. I wouldn’t have thought I could turn on a guy who wasn’t into women, but I would have been wrong.

“I’m going to kiss you, Margot,” he whispered, lowering his head. His lips were firm but soft, capturing mine with gentle precision. He toyed with me for a while, keeping his mouth closed, until he finally slid his tongue against mine. I’d never kissed two different guys on the same night, but I didn’t care at this point. Josh was smart and funny and sexy. He wasn’t pushy or overbearing, letting Tore and me work things out between us before slowly inserting himself into our dynamic. And now he was kissing me, all erotic and sensual.

“Getting started without me?” Tore asked, sliding an arm around each of us.

I watched as Josh turned and tilted his head, kissing Tore the way he’d just been kissing me. And it was so fucking hot I couldn’t take my eyes off of them. I must have made a sound, something, because they broke apart and both looked at me.

“Your turn,” Josh told Tore.

Tore kissed me, and then it was a free-for-all, the three of us taking turns, kissing, touching, dancing, our bodies fluid and loose, becoming one with the music and each other. Alcohol probably played a part in it, but I was well aware of what I was doing—and who I was doing it with. The alcohol just allowed me to do it without dying of embarrassment.

When Nine Inch Nails’ “Closer” came on, I groaned. As far as I was concerned, that was one of the sexiest songs ever written, and Tore and Josh must have agreed with me because everything turned up a notch. Tore slid a hand under the incredibly short skirt of my little black dress, palming my ass as we kissed, softly singing the chorus to me. The lyrics were hot and dirty and exactly the kind of prelude I needed for what was to come.

I wasn’t nervous anymore, just torn between the desire to continue what we were doing and moving the party up to the private room we had waiting for us.
