Broken Deeds MC : Second Generation #1(15)
Author: Esther E. Schmidt

All heads swing his way. Baton shrugs. “He could have checked those files on his partner’s computer so shit wouldn’t link back to him.”

“Agreed,” Ganza mutters.

“It would explain how Sven was there when Galen was killed, shoving the blame on a homeless man who had nothing to do with it.” Wyatt leans back and adds, “It all fits perfectly. And with the heat of Galen’s death the fucker stops for a few months and picks right back up when he knows the heat is off his fucking back.”

“There aren’t any magic tricks you can pull with cameras from the day Galen was killed, Bee?” Wyatt questions. “Because the shit you did last night made it possible to drag a fucker, who killed his son, to prison to rot for the rest of his life.”

Bee shoots him a sad look. “Sorry. We were lucky I remembered the other cameras from a news article. I checked the details of Galen’s case and Ganza already retrieved all the footage, sadly it didn’t show the mugging or killing part.”

“If anyone else is responsible for Galen’s murder, we will bring them to justice,” I growl, making everyone slap their flat hand on the table.

Ganza turns his laptop slightly to Bee and I watch how she leans toward him.

She shakes her head. “No, you have to–”

Instead of finishing her sentence she points at the screen. Ganza starts to type but Bee suddenly bats his hands away, pulls the laptop closer to her and with a few keystrokes she shoves it right back.

Ganza grins at me. “We’re allowed to keep her, huh? ’Cause I like having someone around whose fingers might be a little quicker than mine. Though I am the best…but Bee here brings some serious lady-balls to the table.”

“She’s mine,” I grunt. “I just chose to bring her in at a time we need her the most. From here on out you can all either pick Ganza or my old lady if you need some computer work done. But I want the tasks equally balanced, ya hear? And if Bee has priorities for our kid or herself, you go to Ganza without a fucking complaint.”

Agreements ring out and Wyatt takes over the meeting to double check some of the other cases we’re working on. Broken Deeds MC balances a handful of cases at the same time. Mostly we team up but there are cases where only one of us handle it. And incidentally we all get our heads together, like the Galen case.

I was the one researching it but was at a standstill until I asked Bee for help. And now it’s blown wide open with other angles, we need to handle it together. We spend another hour going through instructions before I finally end the meeting.

Bee handed Wyatt her notes and he’s going to make a few calls for her. Vachs is setting up a coincidental meeting with Sven and Woolerton later this week. But first he’s going to observe those two to get a good feel about their dynamics.

We have another meeting scheduled in a few days but for now everyone knows what to do. When I step into the main room, Cora isn’t anywhere in sight. There are however three other women sitting at the bar who come around, most times during the weekend, looking for a good time. They give Bee a smile before each of them head toward one of the brothers.

“Let’s go into my office,” I tell Bee and she follows me.

Once the door is closed, I point at the seat in front of the desk and stroll around it to sit in my own chair.

“My mom is bringing Queenie here, but I wanted to talk to you before we head home.”

“Okay.” Her forehead scrunches up and she crosses her arms in front of her chest. “Is something wrong?”

“No, I just wanted to make sure you’re okay with working full-time if needed.”

She visibly relaxes and waves off the argument. “Sure, not a problem. I used to help my mother out all the time before we got together. I like working on anything computer related. Though, it kinda hit me hard with the case where the child was involved…the case I assisted Wyatt with. But I gather there aren’t many like those being thrown at my feet.”

“From time to time,” I regretfully tell her.

Bee gives a firm nod. “I’ll be honored to be of some help in getting justice in those cases as well. And if I can’t handle anything or if it gets too much, I’d let you know. But I’m guessing the both of us will balance our jobs and taking care of Queenie, am I right?”

“The last few days have shown how we can adjust as we go. I don’t see any reasons why you would have any limitations, unless of course you have limitations yourself. If so, let me know.”

“No limitations.” She grins and it hits me straight in the chest.

“Good. Then you can handle what comes your way but the priority for now is the case I put you on. I expect Wyatt to make the calls for you today or tomorrow, let me know if you stumble onto anything else.”

I stand and stalk toward her to take her hand to pull her between my legs as I lean my ass on the desk. Pulling her down for a kiss, I let my hands roam over her body, already liking the added access I have to my wife now that she’s also working cases–which entails she’ll be around here more.

“Oh, hello. See Queenie? Mommy and Daddy are all play and no work, just like I told you.”

“Ma!” I snap. “How many times have I asked you to knock before you enter?”

My mother snorts. “And I’ve told you many times that if I didn’t do it when you were a kid…I’m not going to start now. But it should teach you to lock the door if you want to get nekkid with your old lady.”

“For fuck’s sake,” I grumble in a whisper while Bee giggles and strolls over to my mother to take Queenie from her.

“She’s been a doll all day and I wouldn’t have brought her by if Archer didn’t call. I could bring her by tomorrow morning if you two want some extra time together,” my mother offers.

Bee shoots me a look with the same emotions rising inside me. “Maybe tomorrow. We wanted to have dinner together tonight since everything is handled here. In fact, we’re going home. I have to work tomorrow at the shop so if Bee agrees she could drop her off tomorrow afternoon to stay the night. I’ll swing by to give her a goodnight kiss when I get back from work.”

“Sounds good,” both Bee and my mother say in sync.

We all stroll out of my office. The music has turned up and some of the brothers have started to relax with a woman draped over their lap. Ganza is sitting on the couch–typing away on his laptop–and there’s something on his head, but I can’t make out what it is until I step closer.

My mother stalks up to Ganza and holds her hand out. “Give it here, Ganza.”

He’s engrossed in his laptop and doesn’t make a peep. Dannon is sitting next to him and grabs the thing my mother is referring to and pulls it before letting go, making it smack into Ganza’s forehead who is now shooting a glare at Dannon.

Dannon snickers, “This is why we can’t take you places, dude. You’re weird.”

“It’s functional, keeps my hair out of my face. I found it between the cushions, smelled it first and it’s clean,” Ganza grumbles.

Dannon keeps staring at him. “I repeat, you’re weird.”

“Give me my thong back, Ganza,” my mother sighs.

Both men glance at each other and Ganza rips it off his head as if it’s on fire, throwing it in my mother’s direction the next instant.
