Winter Vibes (Mistletoe Montana Book 2)(8)
Author: Frankie Love

And I suppose in a way they have. I’m not just crushing on him — I’ve fallen for him. Head over heels, all I want is him; a hard fall. A crash. And I’m not scared of falling flat on my face. No. Cole will catch me. Carry me. Take me home and put me to bed. Rather, take me to bed.

I know this. Because as he begins to enter me, there is a reverence to it. He knows this means something — him and me. I feel it.

Tears prick the corner of my eyes and he runs a hand over my cheek, brushing my hair back. “Don’t cry, snow bunny,” he whispers. “I got you.”

And he does. But still, the emotion filling me is overwhelming. I wrap my arms around him and hold on tight. “Don’t let go.”

“I won’t.” He kisses me footy, our lips parting and his tongue pressing to mine, both of us letting out a moan of pleasure as his cock finds his way right where it belongs.

I exhale as he fills me up. “That dildo was a piece of crap, apparently,” I say, panting. “You’re so much…”

“Bigger?”

I nod, laughing. “Yes. Oh… yes. Yes. Ohh, Cole.”

We move together, the rhythm of our bodies as fast as our heartbeats, fast and steady and… oh god, it’s good.

“I’m so close,” I moan. “I’m gonna come. I’m… oh,” I whimper. “Another ‘Christmas Miracle.’”

“A what?” he laughs. “Fuck, my cock is so damn hard, I’m so close, baby.”

“It’s what I’ve been calling my orgasms,” I pant as his seed erupts inside of me. Filling me. Hot and creamy and heavenly.

“Damn,” he groans, thrusting deep inside me, making me whimper even more loudly. When he finishes, he rolls over, keeping me close, in his arms. “You are my dream come true, Aspyn.”

Before I can answer we hear the front door open. Douggie’s voice booming, loud as always. “Hey Cole, we’re back! Where you at man, wanna beer?”

We hear my parents laughing as they come inside the house, talking about getting some wine, and I wince. A night of fiery passion has turned into an ice-cold bath.

“Well, that changes things,” I say, hating that this is ending so damn fast. A few hours with Cole is all I get if my family has anything to do with it. It kills me because I want so much more.

I want to talk this through with him, but he’s already out of bed, getting dressed. Jeans on, his shirt too.

“Wait,” I say. “Can we talk at least—”

He smiles at me, but he doesn’t lean down to kiss me, assure me. “Not now. I’ve got to go talk to them before anything else.” And just like that, he’s gone.

I tense, wanting to know what he plans on saying. Terrified at the possibilities. Tears fill my eyes as I pull on a pair of sweats, my bra, and a hoodie. In the bathroom I wash my hands, pull my hair into a bun on the top of my head. And give myself a pep talk. I’ve competed in huge races, I’ve lived on my own for years, I’ve made tough choices and I understand sacrifice.

So I can do this too.

No matter how hard it is to face my parents after rolling around in the bed with Cole — the literal man of my dreams — I can do it.

And if Cole just wanted one night, so be it. It will have been the best night of my life. No regrets.

I put on a brave face, not knowing what might meet me on the other side of this door, but knowing I’m an adult, knowing I can face this. Face anything.

Chapter Fourteen

Cole

The moment I hear her family back at the chalet, I move quick. There’s no time to waste. I’m not interested in tiptoeing around the cold hard truth of what I want. I’m not gonna sneak around this chalet hiding the facts.

I’m going to man up and speak the damn truth. I dress as fast as I possibly can, knowing the sooner this conversation happens, the better.

My life is on the line. Our life.

“Dude, Cole, you okay?” Douglas asks as I enter the kitchen. Tom and Janet are pouring wine, their cheeks flushed from the night run. Douglas is grinning, and popping open a can of beer.

“I’m okay,” I say. “You guys weren’t out long, were you?”

“The winds were something fierce. We got in a few runs then decided to come back here. I’m dying for more of Aspyn’s cake.”

“Before all that, can we talk?” I ask, looking at the three of them.

“Is something wrong, Cole?” Janet asks. “You look worried.”

“Nothing’s wrong, but it is important.”

Douglas frowns but doesn’t ask questions as we sit down in the living room.

“Look, I have to be honest. I haven’t been for a long time but I can’t hide it anymore.”

“Dude, what is going on?” Douglas asks. I understand why he’s freaking out a bit. We’ve been friends since the third grade; he knows me better than anyone. Well, nearly. Truth is, I think Aspyn knows me best at this point.

“Whatever it is,” Tom says, “we’re here for you.”

I clear my throat. “Actually, maybe hold that thought. Because what I’m going to tell you might change things.”

“Oh Cole, what is it?” Janet asks.

“It’s Aspyn.”

Their eyes narrow and heads tilt, confusion on their faces

“I am in love with her. I have been for years and there’s no way I can hide my feelings any longer. I love her. I want to be with her, support her, be her biggest fan.”

“You do?” Aspyn’s voice fills the room, hope laced with longing, and I stand, turning toward her.

“I do.”

“Shit,” Douglas says, shaking his head. “You slept with my sister?”

I tense, looking at her family. “If you want me to go, I understand.”

“Go?” Aspyn gasps. “Why would you leave?”

“I know what I want, but what do you want, Aspyn? And what do your parents want for you?”

Tom runs a hand over his bald head. “I wasn’t expecting this. But what really matters is how Aspyn feels.”

Tears fill her eyes, she looks at her brother and mother.

“Don’t look at me, Aspyn,” Janet says. “This is your life. You’re an adult. It’s your decision.” Then she smiles softly. “But I must admit, Cole is one of my favorite humans on earth so if I have to lose you to someone, this isn’t the worst outcome.”

Douglas has his arms crossed, narrowed in on me. “If you hurt her, Cole, I swear to god you’ll wish you’d never met me.”

“I won’t,” I say, adamant. “You’re my family, and I don’t want to ruin that. But Aspyn, what do you want?” Facing her I wait, the seconds seeming long and drawn out, and I know our fate is in her hands.

The torture ends when a huge smile breaks across her face. “Cole, I’ve been in love with you for years. I just never knew you felt the same until now.”

“Thank god, you scared me half to death.” I pull her into my arms, looking into those baby blues. “I love you so much.”

She smiles up at me, her family stunned as I lean down and kiss the girl who gave the phrase “Christmas Miracles” a whole new meaning. The girl who’s more than a winter vibe, she’s my forever.
