Three Weddings and a Baby(13)
Author: Vivian Arend

Over the past months, they’d experimented a whole lot, finding out what really made each other hot. Lisa could come hard and fast from him playing with her pussy if he did it right.

She shuddered, reaching a hand back to catch hold of his hip. “Josiah. I want your cock.”

“This first.” He slid his fingers into her sex, thumb resting over her clit. He moved slowly, teasing with tiny pulses. Rubbing his fingers against the sweet spot just inside her folds.

Lisa’s head fell back on his shoulder, and her legs quivered. “Yes. Oh, yesssss.”

Heat wrapped around them. Josiah pressed his other hand between her breasts, their upper bodies tight. He still wore his shirt, the tails tangling between them. Both of them with their jeans around their ankles.

“Close,” she warned.

A loud howling rang out from the bathroom. Ollie, complaining that she’d been so cruelly abandoned.

Josiah squeezed his eyes shut and concentrated, catching hold of Lisa’s breast and tweaking her nipple in the hopes of giving her what she needed to take the final—

She moaned. Gasped. Said his name, the vowels quivering as her hips pulsated against his fingers. Before he was done helping her ride the aftershocks, she pivoted again, leaning back against the wall. Hands splayed on either side of her hips for balance, she stared at his rigid cock.

“Finish.”

He was seconds away from doing exactly that. By the time he found a condom, this moment would be past, so he wrapped his fingers around his length and pumped. Meeting her eyes then letting his gaze trickle down over her breasts, which showed the marks of his hands. Of his five o’clock shadow.

“So sexy,” Lisa said, teasing fingers across her own belly and returning to stroke her clit.

“Show me,” Josiah demanded.

She pulled open her folds and let him see her clit peeking out from skin gone swollen and red from her orgasm, moisture glistening. Her long fingers were wet as she stroked herself.

“Fuck.” He came, long spurts shooting across the distance between them. His come landed in white streaks on her belly, on the curls of her mound, and her fingers. His head spun, but as she dipped her fingers in and out again, he groaned her name. The final bits of pleasure stripped from his body.

Josiah damn near fell to his knees because he couldn’t stand. He pressed his hands to her skin and teasingly rubbed the moisture all over her.

“Mine,” he growled.

Lisa’s belly shook under his fingers as she laughed. “That was awesome.”

He glanced up, the love in her eyes shining so clearly. “Thank you for letting me ravish you in the front hallway. That wasn’t the plan for the evening. Just so you know.”

She tucked her fingers under his chin and met his gaze straight on. “That’s good. That means we still have something else to look forward to tonight.”

“I love you.” Not saying the words would be like not breathing.

Her smile went impossibly bright. “I love you too.”

Ollie howled a complaint.

“And she loves us, only she’d really like to be right here next to us to tell us in person,” Josiah interpreted for Lisa.

“Well, naturally.” Lisa stepped out of her jeans and panties, waiting until he’d done the same. She piled all her clothes into his arms. “Here. I’ll go rescue Ollie. Once she’s settled in her bed, I’ll join you in the shower.”

It was a fantastic idea.

It was a fantastic evening.

The next morning, Lisa was still smiling. Her fondue and the massage parlour he’d organized in their bedroom both having satisfied her immensely.

She topped up his coffee before resettling in the chair beside him. “Did you get any leads on our exotic visitor?”

“Nothing on the board yet, but it’s early enough that not everybody would’ve checked. We’ll do some more research once we hit the office on Monday if I don’t hear anything sooner.” He glanced at her. “You’re still filling in for Sharon this week, yes?”

“She sent an email saying she’s ready to get back to work next Monday. Which means yes, if you want to enjoy any office hijinks, Dr. Ryder, this week is your last chance.” Lisa waggled her brows.

“It’s been nice working with you,” Josiah said honestly. “I know desk jobs aren’t really your thing. Thanks for helping out.”

Her nose wrinkled for a moment, even as she nodded. “No problem.”

There it was. Everything from her tone of voice to the change in how she sat said there was a problem. He leaned in closer. “Lisa? Sweetheart, what’s wrong?”

She blinked. “Nothing.”

That also was very clearly the truth. Which meant Josiah was now thoroughly confused.

Ollie wandered over, resting her chin on his knee. He glanced down at the dog. “I am having a hard time getting a read on this patient,” he said as if consulting with Ollie. “I have a feeling that maybe even she doesn’t know what’s wrong.”

Lisa snorted, and he glanced up just in time to catch her finishing a massive eye roll. “Please. I’m not one of your barn animals for you to do your animal-whisperer thing to.”

“It would be easier if you were,” Josiah mock complained. “Babe, it seems as if there’s something on your mind. Which isn’t a bad thing, and I’m not demanding you talk if you’re not ready, but when you are, if you are, I’m here.”

Her head fell to the side, and she smiled at him with an entirely different expression. One of complete adoration.

It was an awful lot like the expression Ollie often wore, not that Josiah was going to tell Lisa that.

She nodded slowly as if thinking it through. “It’s more of a weird revelation than something wrong.”

Josiah leaned back in his chair and gestured for her to go on. “Revelations can be good.”

“They can.”

“And what have you discovered?” Josiah encouraged.

“In one week, I’ll be unemployed,” Lisa said. “And thinking about that reminded me that I basically haven’t had a job in my entire life.”

Chapter 3

The expression on Josiah’s face made Lisa snicker.

He blinked, hard, as if trying to make sense of what she’d just thrown at him. “That’s not true.”

“It totally is,” she insisted. “I’m not going to be silly about this. I’m not claiming that I’ve never worked. But the truth is, when I started thinking about everything that I’ve done over the years, all of it just kind of happened. I have never done a job interview. I have never applied for a job. I have never had a job title.”

“You’re a cowgirl,” Josiah said instantly, which was really sweet, but not the point she was trying to make.

“I’ve driven a tractor, and I’ve plowed a field. I’ve also helped shoe a horse, inoculate piglets, and deliver way too many calves. How many of those things have you done?” She leaned back and folded her arms over her chest. “All of them, I’d bet. Because you’re Dr. Ryder. Veterinarian, who applied for and went to school to get that title.”

Josiah’s gaze narrowed. “I’m listening, but I’m not catching the gist of what you’re saying.”
