Monk (Royal Bastards MC : Sacramento Book 3)(17)
Author: Winter Travers

Two girls with handfuls of money skirted around us and ducked into the dressing room. The door swung open, and Rain stepped out.

“That couldn’t have been better timing,” Six-Gun grunted.

“Rain,” I called.

Rain looked up and pasted a fake smile on her lips. “If it isn’t the new president of the Royal Bastards calling my name.”

Jesus. “You think we can talk for a minute?” I asked.

Rain fanned her face with her hand. “Why, of course. Maybe outside?” she suggested. “I’m a little warm from my last set.”

I nodded and followed her down the hallway past Mitzy’s office and out the back door. It was probably just as warm outside, but if that was what she wanted, whatever.

Rain stepped to the side of the building and pulled her see-through robe around her body. “What can I help you two with?” Her voice was breathy, and she batted her eyes so much it looked like she had something she was trying to get out of them.

“We were just wondering if you had seen Tank lately?” I asked.

“Now do I look like that man’s keeper? He told me he didn’t want me anymore.” Rain rolled her eyes. “As if he was going to find someone better than me.”

A rat in the gutter was better than Rain, in my opinion. “We found out you were probably the last one to have seen him a few days ago.”

“You lost another member of your club, Monk? That’s not being a good prez at all.” She reached out and laid her hand on my cut.

I stepped back and let her hand fall to her side. “When was the last time you saw Tank?” I asked again. I wasn’t up for Rain’s slutty games. Especially not when she basically insulted me.

“A few days ago. He grabbed all of his stuff, and he took off.” Rain snapped the gum in her mouth. “I haven’t talked to him since.”

I watched her closely as she held the gum between her front teeth and pulled it out ‘til it was a long string from her mouth to fingertips. How and the fuck did Tank and Rebel find this chick appealing? Maybe I wasn’t the type she appealed to.

“Did he say where he was going when he left?” Six-Gun asked.

Rain shoved the gum back in her mouth. “Said he had to take a few days to himself.”

I glanced at Six-Gun. That was a load of shit. If that was what Tank was doing, he would have at least let of us know he was taking off.

“We went to your place yesterday, but you weren’t home.”

Rain smiled seductively. At least, it was probably seductive to someone who wasn’t Six-Gun or me. “Your little waitress not doing it for you already?” she purred at Six-Gun. “I know how you club guys like it.” She reached out and trailed her fingers down Six-Gun’s chest.

He knocked her hand away and stepped back. “I’m not interested in what you’re selling, Rain. We just want to know where Tank is.”

Rain scoffed. “Your loss. I’m sure you’ll come crawling to me in a couple of months. Those sweet, broken girls never work out in the end.”

Yeah, this bitch was getting fired once we found Tank, and then I would make sure she never got a job in all of California again.

Six-Gun took a deep breath. “It’s a fucking miracle you make a dime with that venom tongue of yours, Rain. Say one more thing about Memphis, and you’re going to miss your next couple of sets.”

Rain glared at Six-Gun. “Are we done here?” she spat.

I stepped to the side and opened the back door. “Get lost.”

She sashayed back into the club and slammed the door behind her.

“You still think we need to keep her around until we find Tank?” I asked Six-Gun.

He growled, pulled out a cigarette, and offered one to me. “How in the fucking hell did Tank and Rebel fight over that piece of bitch?”

“Piece of bitch?” I laughed. “That’s a new one.” I grabbed a cigarette and stuck it in my mouth. He offered me a light, and I inhaled deep.

He lit his cigarette and took a long drag. “Calling her a piece of shit is too nice.” He exhaled and blew out a plume of smoke. “How about a piece of cunt? Rancid cunt?”

“You think she’s telling the truth about Tank?”

Six-Gun shook his head. “No. What about you?”

“Nope. I think she knows exactly where Tank is. She fought for him, and then she’s going to stand there and tell me she just let him drive away.” I chuckled. “Not a fucking chance.”

“What are we going to do about it?”

I glanced back at the club. “Get Rebel, and tell him to follow her. Everywhere she fucking goes, I want to know about it. She’s more than likely going to lead us right to Tank.”

Six-Gun nodded. “I think he’s either in her fucking house or wherever she was when we went to her house.”

“So then, we need to get in her house.” I thought the same thing. It was too much of a fucking coincidence that Rain was the last to have seen or talked to Tank.

“Not sure how we are going to do that with her nosy as fuck neighbor.” Six-Gun took one last drag off his cigarette and dropped it on the ground. He stomped it out with his boot.

“Well, we’re not gonna be knocking on the door and announcing to the whole neighborhood that we’re there,” I smirked and finished my cigarette. “It seemed like Rain was all for messing with some more Royal Bastards, so I don’t think she’ll mind if we take a tour of her house when she’s at work.”

Six-Gun bumped his fist against mine. “Right on, brother. Ain’t nothing wrong with us just doing a little walk-through, right?”

“Nothing wrong with it at all.”

Six-Gun opened the door. “I’m gonna go find my lady. You good out here?”

I nodded. “I’m gonna find Mitzy and talk to her about Rain. I’m also gonna talk to her about Barracuda again. We are out of ideas of where he could be, so maybe something has jogged her memory since.”

“So, you’re gonna find your lady, too,” he smirked.

I flipped him off. “Go find Memphis and ask her if you can have your balls back for a little bit.”

Six-Gun let out a bark of laughter. “Pretty sure Mitzy is about to have yours, brother.” The door closed behind him, and I shook my head.

God knows what was about to happen between Mitzy and me, but I knew whatever it was, it was gonna be one hell of a ride.

Chapter Fourteen

Power of the pussy…

Monk

“I thought you were going to come find me when you were free?”

Mitzy looked up from the stack of papers on her desk. “And I thought if you needed me, you could come find me.”

I shook my head—typical Mitzy. I closed the door behind me and sat down on the chair in front of her desk.

Mitzy sat back in her chair and smiled. “From what Rain is spreading around, she gave you and Six-Gun dueling blowjobs out by the dumpster.”

“Is that what she’s saying?” I chuckled.

Mitzy shrugged. “She made it sound much more romantic than that, but I know how to read between the lines.” She leaned forward. “I also saw you three headed out the back door.”
