Someone to Love (Pride, Oregon #10)(12)
Author: Jill Sanders

“Oh?” he asked, finishing off his lunch. “Care to share the stories?”

“The last one put me off expecting…”

“The beyond?” he jumped in.

“Yeah,” she said with a sigh. “So when Kara suggested we start our own business, we pooled our inheritance together and jumped at the chance to purchase the barn. We’d been coming to Pride all our lives, and I remember one winter our dad took us to a hayride that the man who owned the barn had going for the holidays.”

“The Rogers,” he added. “They used to run the hayride every Christmas. When it snowed, they had a sled.”

“Yes.” She smiled. “It was snowing that year, and I remember walking into the barn and thinking how magical the place was. How… romantic.”

“How old were you?”

“Ten, eleven.” She shrugged.

He thought about what he’d been doing at that age. He’d most likely still been in torn jeans, chasing his cousins around playing tag football with no thought to girls or romance. He guessed it was true that boys matured later than girls. He’d always figured he had such a sex drive in the past few years because he’d gotten a late start.

Chapter Seven

Robin noticed the change in George when she mentioned romance and instantly regretted bringing it up. She should have known better. They’d made the agreement to keep this, whatever it actually was between them, light.

“So.” She decided to change the subject quickly as she set down the last of her drink. “Exactly how are we going to get back if the wind is blowing us up the coast instead of down?”

He chuckled and moved a little closer to her, and then wrapped his arm around her shoulders. She felt her heart kick hard in her chest as her body pressed up against his.

His eyes ran over her face and landed on her lips. She fought the urge to lick her lips in anticipation.

“A sailor’s secret,” he whispered, before kissing her.

She couldn’t help melting against his chest. Her arms reached up and wrapped around his shoulders as he leaned her back against the cushions.

She heard his elbow connect with the table and held in a chuckle as a low curse escaped him.

“Come with me,” he said, scooting out of the bench. He held out his hand for hers.

Smiling, she allowed him to pull her up and over to the queen-sized mattress tucked at the very front of the boat. There were two small circular windows on either side of the bed, letting in daylight through sheer white curtains.

He laid her gently down on the bed, and she sighed as his hands roamed slowly over her while he took her mouth again.

It wasn’t as if they had been rushed the first time, but knowing they had all the time in the world somehow made her appreciate the slowness even more. Besides, he seemed to enjoy taking his time exploring her. Pleasing her.

As he peeled off each layer of her clothes, his hands and mouth ran over her freshly exposed skin. She felt like a jumbled bundle of nerves as she tugged and pulled his clothing from him. Just seeing his perfect chest and arms had her entire body going on alert in anticipation of enjoying every inch of him.

How had she not burst into flames that first time? George was one of those men she’d admired from afar for years while dreaming of what it would be like to gain his attention. Now that she had it, had him, she wasn’t quite sure what to do.

Thankfully, he seemed to know exactly what to do with her. Leaning back with a moan, her eyes closed as he traced her ribs with his mouth.

“God, I love the taste of you,” he said against her skin. His breath had goose bumps rising over the spot.

“George.” She reached up and tangled her fingers in his hair. “Please, I…”

“Tell me what you want,” George said, glancing up at her. “Is it… this?” he asked as he traced a finger over her flat belly.

She sucked in her breath and smiled at him.

“Or this?” he asked as his finger moved lower while his eyes locked with hers.

The smile on her lips fell away as his finger traced the elastic of the lace panties that she’d worn with his pleasure in mind.

Her eyes closed as he traced the material that covered her.

“Do you like it when I do this?” he asked, focusing his attention on the material that covered her pussy.

A low moan escaped her lips as she arched into his hand. She heard him chuckle softly as he continued to play with the silk covering her.

“Please,” she begged again. “I…” She closed her eyes tightly as he continued his exploration. When he nudged the material aside, she cried out with delight as he slipped a finger over her bare skin. When he dipped a finger into her, her shoulders bounded off the mattress.

She couldn’t remember ever reacting to anyone like this before. Sure, sex had always been fun, but this… with George, was… staggering.

“That’s it, come for me, Robin,” he said as he kissed her inner thigh, then moved closer to cover her pussy with his mouth. “I want to taste you,” he said a moment before lights exploded behind her eyelids, and she felt her body give him everything he’d asked for.

“I’m no longer in control of my body,” she said with a sigh as he moved slowly up her.

She heard him chuckle a moment before he slipped slowly into her.

“Good, then let me take the helm,” he said, coming up to her. Her eyes locked with his as she wrapped her legs around his hips.

She wanted to tell him how wonderful he made her feel. Wanted to explain to him how much it meant to her, but fear had her biting her lips instead.

“You’re so perfect,” he said against her ear. “You feel so damn good,” he whispered, sending another wave of goose bumps over her skin.

Her nails scraped lightly over his sides as he moved. She matched his pace, his speed now, and knew that as he built her up once more, she would gladly let him take the helm anytime he wanted.

“It’s getting late,” he said after their bodies had cooled off. She could still feel the bite of the chill in the air, but the soft rocking of the boat had lulled her, as had the glorious numbness of the aftermath of mind-blowing sex.

“Mmm,” was her only reply. She doubted she could put together more than two words at this point.

Then George moved, and she felt the bitter coldness of the evening air hit her. She reached out for his warmth and cracked an eye open to find him.

She realized instantly that it had grown so much darker in the cabin and guessed that they must have both fallen asleep for a while.

Worry about how they would get back home surfaced.

Sitting up slowly, she looked around for her clothes and quickly pulled on her shirt when George handed it to her.

“What time is it?” she asked, hunting the small space for her jeans.

“A little past three,” he said, tugging on his own jeans.

“Three?” How had it gotten so late?

“Yeah, I guess we both needed the rest,” he said with a slight shrug as his eyes ran over her. Then he slowly smiled as he pinned her down by placing his hands on either side of her on the mattress. His eyebrows wiggled slightly as he added, “And the rest.”

Smiling, she pulled him in for a kiss. “I wish we could just stay here for the night and head back in the morning.”
