Conflict of Interest(11)
Author: A.J. Alexander

“Money makes the world go ‘round, sweets. You should know that by now, especially since you have none.”

A sinister smile cross Pearl’s face as she puts the final nail in Kyle’s coffin. “And if you keep running your mouth about things you don’t know, I’ll make sure you end up spending five to ten in the closest penitentiary.”

The smug look on Kyle’s face disappears. “You can’t do that. We signed a non-disclosure agreement.”

“For the business, but anything else is fair game,” she corrects him. “And last I checked, extortion was illegal.”

I wrap my arms around her waist, pulling her close, letting her know that I’m with her one hundred percent.

“Take the money Clay gave you for Xue and enjoy your freedom, but make no mistake: if you choose to come after me and mine again, all bets are off,” she spits.

“I wish I’d never married you,” he snarls.

“The feeling is mutual. Now, please leave before I call security to escort you from the building.”

Kyle turns and storms toward the elevators.

Now that Kyle is gone, I take Pearl’s lips, backing her into the wall.

“That was sexy as fuck,” I growl as I nibble my way down her neck.

“Don’t think you can get away with pulling a stunt like that without telling me,” she moans as her head tips back giving me access to the sensitive skin below her ear.

“I planned on telling you tonight, but Kyle showed up out of the blue and ruined my plans.” I pull back, seeing nothing but adoration—and, dare I say, love—shining in her eyes.

“He makes a habit of doing that, doesn’t he?” Pearl giggles softly.

I nuzzle my nose into her hair and kiss the top of her head. Things could have gone differently when Pearl got here, but thankfully, her hatred for Kyle outweighed everything else.

“Move in with me?” I ask, picking her up and spinning around.

I don’t give a shit who in the office sees us. Pearl means everything to me, and I want the whole world to know it.

“That can be arranged. It’s a pain in the ass to wake up in time to catch transit.” She smiles as I lower her down to the floor.

Deciding to push my luck, I ask for one more thing. “Marry me?”

Pearl raises her eyebrow at me. “Not so fast, speed racer. Let’s start with living together first. Then we can see what else happens.”

“For now,” I respond before leaning down and capturing her mouth in a searing kiss.

Pearl

6 months later

It’s been almost six months since Clay and I managed to find our way back to each other, and I couldn’t be happier. Clay shows me every day how much he treasures me, making sure I know I’m the most important person in the world to him.

“It’s time to put the work away and come to bed.” I saunter into his home office and slide my arms over his shoulders and down his chest. “The paperwork can wait a few hours for you to get some sleep.”

“Paperwork is never-ending. Besides, if someone hadn’t distracted me this afternoon when we were both supposed to be working, this never would have happened.” Clay grips my hand tightly as he looks up at me with a wicked smile on his face.

Memories of the dirty things he did to me this afternoon against the newly installed one-way mirrors in his office, bent over his desk, and a number of other places filter through my mind.

“You won’t be able to bend me over the couch arm for much longer, baby,” I whisper, resting my hand on my stomach.

That’s right. Clay and I are expecting. I had planned to make it special, having searched the Internet and Pinterest for fun ideas, but in the end our little one had other ideas. If it hadn’t been for the sudden need to sprint for the bathroom during our afternoon meeting with Colleen, I could have kept my secret for a little while longer.

“I thought you were insatiable before. If this is how you’re going to react after I tell you I’m pregnant, we’ll never get any work done.” I bend down and gently kiss him.

“I’ve been dreaming about you being round and pregnant with my child since the first time I was inside you,” Clay says reverently as he stands and backs me against the wall.

I tilt my head back as he nibbles down my neck and across my collarbone before capturing my lips in a passionate kiss. Shock waves of pleasure roll through my body as his cock hardens against my stomach.

“Now, how about we celebrate properly?” he growls as he lifts my leg, wrapping it around his waist.

My eyes slide closed as he rocks back and forth, brushing his erection against my sensitive clit.

“Haven’t we celebrated enough?” I moan as he grips my panties and pulls, tearing them from my body.

“Never.”

“At this rate, I won’t have any panties left.” Snaking my hand between our bodies, I reach into his sweatpants, wrapping my hand around his length and stroking him. “Fuck me.”

He groans loudly, dropping his head to my shoulder, then cups my ass with his large hand and squeezes, lifting me into the air and pressing my back further into the wall. Releasing my hold on his cock, I wrap my arms around his neck as he sheathes himself inside me in one smooth motion. I cry out as he pounds relentlessly into my core.

Pictures shake and shatter as they fall to the floor, but he won’t let up as he brings me closer to the edge. I squeeze my legs against his hips as I use my arms to meet him thrust for thrust before screaming his name as we unravel together.

I unwrap my legs from his waist and he slides out of me before lowering me to the ground.

Cupping the side of his face, I say the three words that I was once so afraid to say to him. “I love you.”

My fear is long gone now, replaced by a love that shines brighter than I could have imagined.

“Say it again.” Clay drops his forehead to mine and closes his eyes.

“I love you,” I say again, needing him to feel my all-encompassing love for him.

“I’ll never get tired of hearing you say that.” His eyes open, swirling with so much love and desire, it takes my breath away.

We stare at each other for a few moments in silence, and I reflect on how much things have changed in the last six months. We moved in together and are now having a family.

People have wondered when or if we’ll ever get married, but I’m in no rush. I know Clay loves me and our unborn child unconditionally, and that’s enough. I don’t need a piece of paper to prove it.

“Let's head to bed. I want to celebrate properly for the third time.” Clay steps back, tucking his cock back into his sweats, and saunters out of the room.

“You’re insatiable,” I giggle as I walk past him through the door and head toward our bedroom.

Clay playfully smacks me on the ass, and I jump slightly.

“Only for you Pearl. Only for you,” he murmurs.
