Trent (Alpha Geek #9)(4)
Author: Milly Taiden

Shyly, Trent snuck a look at Lana. She was tall and perfectly proportioned, which made her body absolutely drool-worthy. Her red hair and green eyes were a perfect contrast, and she had that innocent, girl-next-door type of beauty that Trent had always found irresistible.

As he let his eyes linger on every inch of her, Lana’s mouth tipped up, and she turned her face toward Trent. “Need something?” she asked with the hint of a giggle in her tone.

Trent’s face reddened, and he snapped forward. “I was just… I was just wondering where we’re going?”

“The safe house.”

Trent cleared his throat. “I know that, but where is it?”

Lana whirled into a driveway so sharply that Trent jolted to the right, his shoulder knocking against the car window. “It’s right here.”

In the middle of the field was a stucco southwest-style home with a large wraparound porch and two-door garage. Trent guessed that the house was a three-bedroom, probably a vacation or rental home, based on its looks. He could see himself sitting outside, drinking his morning cup of coffee while staring at the mountains… Lana by his side.

“You coming?” Lana asked from outside the car, shaking Trent from his thoughts. “I just sent off a message to Meghan to let her know we made it.”

“Yeah, I was just admiring the place,” Trent commented, leaving the car and grabbing his over-filled bag. “Not too bad a place to be secluded in for a few days, if I may say so.”

“I agree.” Lana led the way to the front door and unlocked it. Inside, they were greeted by an open floor plan and walls of windows that made it seem like they had a panoramic view.

Trent followed her while she walked through the kitchen, sitting room, and each bedroom, ensuring the house was clear of any potential enemies.

“If you don’t mind, I think we should each take a guest room and leave the main bedroom empty,” Lana said. “Since it’s across the house, and I don’t want us to be split up like that.”

We’d solve that problem by just sharing the main room… Trent thought, and he tried to quickly think of something else to avoid obvious tenting in his slacks.

He shook his head to try to empty it of thoughts about Lana. Still, his eyes drifted up her long legs, the beautiful curve of her breasts under her shirt, and the sensual way her lips parted before she spoke.

“Earth to Trent!” Lana snapped her fingers in front of his face, and he finally refocused on her words. “Did you hear me? Is the guest room okay?”

“Yeah, it’s fine,” he mumbled, dropping his bag on a bed before returning to the sitting area. “So, now what do we do?”

“What do you mean?” Lana asked, plopping down on the couch.

“I mean, what do we do with our time here?” Trent clarified, face reddening a bit at how dense he sounded. Even if it seemed like a silly question, he felt out of place here, and he wasn’t sure how to function in an unusual space.

Lana shrugged casually, looking around the room and fiddling with the corner of a throw pillow. “Whatever you want,” she said finally, meeting his gaze with piercing intensity. Trent could have sworn he detected a bit of heat in her tone, but he wouldn’t let himself explore that possibility.

Even if his dick perked up again at the prospect.

“I think…” he trailed off, trying to sound casual rather than totally enraptured. “Uh…”

Lana smiled, obviously amused at his stammering, making him blush more. “Not used to complete down-time, huh? Me neither, honestly. As you astutely determined earlier, I’m new to this gig. Just finished college. It’s a whole different life, not having to worry about papers and finals and all that.”

Trent sat in the reclining chair across from her. “So, what are your orders? Hang out with me and shoot any intruders?”

“Yeah, that and update my bosses on any unusual activity.” She laughed at that and rested her elbow on the back of the couch, placing her hand in her arm. The casual pose stretched her body, and Trent felt his hands ache to touch her. Lana’s muscles were so lean, he bet that it would feel like sculpted perfection all the way from her shoulder to her ass.

He had to excuse himself. He couldn’t just sit there and get a hard-on, staring at Lana all night. “You know what, I should check my messages, see if there’s anything—”

“Not likely,” Lana interrupted. “By that, I mean, you’re not going to get any messages in or out. This place is on fifty acres, all covered by cell blockers.”

Trent froze. “And… no wi-fi?”

“That’s correct. No communication in or out, except for my satellite phone.” Lana shifted on the couch, settling back in what Trent could almost mistake for a come-hither pose… if he wasn’t smart enough to know that a woman like that wouldn’t be into him.

Plus, she’s working. Even if she was bored enough to want to fool around, she wouldn’t want to with me—

“Do you want to fool around or what?”

Trent blinked and then rubbed his ears. Surely she hadn’t just said that.

“Is that a no? Because I’ll accept no for an answer, but you gotta say it out loud for me to believe it,” Lana said, standing from the couch and stepping over to him.

“I… I don’t understand. I thought we were…”

She ran a fingernail down his chest, her touch causing him to shiver. “We’re in seclusion, Trent. In hiding. There are all sorts of alarms set up to let me know if anyone wanders onto the property. Which means I don’t have much to do. And with no cell service and no wi-fi, I don’t think you have much to do either… besides me.”

“Won’t your boss be upset with you?” He gulped, feeling unnaturally warm with her so close to him.

She laughed at that. “Honey, we’re not that kind of agency.”

“Wait, what? Do you mean… is this some kind of escort service?”

A look of anger crossed her face as though reacting to being called a sex worker, but it quickly melted into one of amusement. “Oh, Trent… no, I’m not an escort. I’m just a security guard who is mad hot for my client, and I’m pretty sure there’s just one way to solve this problem.”

She rolled her head back, exposing her neck to him while pushing her breasts into his chest. His heartbeat became faster, and his cock pushed against his slacks, begging to be set free.

Is she for real? Trent couldn’t believe it. Could this really be happening?

“I’m going to count to three, and you can either act or not. If you fail to act by the time I reach the number three, I’m going to take this offer off the table, understand?”

His mind reeled, and he didn’t answer. What was all this? First, he found out he was in danger and needed protection…

“One.”

Then, the hottest woman he’d ever seen showed up on his door and drove him out to the middle of nowhere…

“Two.”

Stop thinking and just act!

“Thr—”

He wrapped his arms around her, pulled her roughly against him, and kissed her like there was no tomorrow.
