Billionaire's Revenge(9)
Author: Claire Angel

She was already wrapped in a robe around her. She went to pick up the dress she had been wearing.

I wondered if she knew how I lusted for her, how every curve on her body shined because of the moisture. I would have liked nothing more than to have her against the door, wrapped around me, her lips pressed against my neck with her breath heavy because of me. I didn’t do anything, though.

“Leave it. I’ll have it dry cleaned. Grab something from my closet, if you’d like.” I gestured toward my closet, and after she nodded, I led her there.

She gasped as she walked in. It was large, I suppose, considering there wasn’t any room to stand in most New York apartments. She walked around, gazing at selections of white, black, and grey, until she found her way toward the corner of the room where she saw a few T-shirts I had lying around, from charity fundraisers and things like that. She popped right into a green one which had a massive Marijuana emblem on it. I think it was from some Marijuana legalization movement. As far as pants were concerned, I suppose she didn’t deem this necessary.

She just looked up at me and smiled. I could see the entire silhouette of her figure, that shirt was oversized but didn’t take away from her curves.

It tightened up around her chest and her hips but was baggy everywhere else. She pulled it down to her knees.

“It’s bigger than I thought it would be.” I supposed she was being crass, but I wasn’t sure whether she was talking about the shirt or something else.

“Erika, I have to go to work. Should I have someone take you home?” I would have loved to spend the day with her, just lazing around at home. But I had important meetings, and I always prioritized work.

“Yes, that would be great. I have to go to work as well.” I was surprised by that. It was Saturday and I was sure SunLit was closed on the weekends. Maybe she needed to continue working on her project.

“Alright, I’ll have a car come get you.” I dialed reception downstairs and told them to arrange a car to get Erika home.

“She said it would take ten minutes,” I told Erika.

“It’s fine.” She smiled as I walked over to get dressed and disrobed. I could tell Erika was still watching me. I began to put on an article at a time, until I was completely dressed. I pulled up my blazer and straightened my tie.

“You look great, Conner.” I knew I looked good, but it was nice coming from her.

“Thank you, Erika, you look beautiful.” She was so beautiful. She didn’t need any makeup or anything. If she tried anything, she would have looked even more beautiful than she did last night. Her hair was messy, and it was covering her entire face at this point. She kept pushing it to the side to look at me.

Just like that it was time to leave. I knew she was interested enough in me at this point, I could pursue the next part of the plan now.

We walked out of the building together and got into different cars, but right before we split our separate ways, she yelled out, “See you later?”

I wanted to say yes, I wanted to tell her I’d like to clear up my schedule for the entire week and spend it with her. I didn’t say a thing, though. I got into the car and left. I made a promise to Brian and I had to keep that. I was deviating from the plan, but I couldn’t be fooled. She was a gold digger and a liar, that’s what Brian had said.

After concluding my business for the day, I decided I’d go home and retire for the night. I kept on thinking about her until I fell asleep.

I wish she was not the same woman as Brain had told me.

Fifteen days later…

I had been so busy for almost for two weeks. But I didn’t forget to message and call Erika every day. I really wanted her to fall for me so that I could take my revenge. I knew my brother was an asshole when it was about money, but he couldn’t lie about a person. So, I didn’t miss any chance to impress her, and I knew she was impressed on the very first day as I was.

If Brian had not told me about her, I would have thought that she was the most adorable woman in this world. We kept talking all night long, singing songs for each other, showering kisses. She was completely in love with me and I was close to getting my revenge.

But I couldn’t deny that these were the happiest days of my life…

I was sitting in my office thinking about Erika and stupidly smiling. I realized I had an important meeting with Erika and Tia about their project. I was the owner of their company now, and as such, their boss. I decided I’d take Lisa with me; Erika had never seen her and didn’t know much about her, other than that she was my assistant.

Right before we walked into the lobby of the offices, I looked at Lisa and told her, “I’d like if you acted as if we were sleeping together.” Before I met Erika, I would’ve preferred if we actually had been sleeping together, but after that one night, my mind couldn’t think of anyone else.

“Okay, sir. I hope it doesn’t come to bite you in the ass, Conner.” Just like that, Lisa had said something that proved to me that she wasn’t just a good employee, but a great friend as well. She was more worried about the consequences of my actions than I was.

“Erika and Tia, my office now.” Lisa and I walked in, and I sat down on my seat, waiting for them to come in.

Just as they reached the door and knocked, Lisa walked up behind me, put her hands on my shoulders, and said, “Come in.”

As soon as Erika walked in and saw Lisa possessively standing over me, her voice began to shudder. “Could we come in, Conn… sir?”

“Yes, please, come in.” I didn’t like seeing Erika like this, but she deserved it for all that she did to Brian.

Lisa walked toward the front of the desk, and Erika gazed at her. In my opinion, Erika was far more attractive than Lisa, but Lisa wasn’t unattractive by any means. I could see Erika watching Lisa. As she smiled, she saw Lisa’s full lips, her hazel eyes, her straight blonde hair shining because of the sunlight. She saw how Lisa was dressed prim and proper. She had a skirt and blouse on, revealing her curves, her perfect hourglass form.

“Erika, Tia, I just wanted to tell you that now Lisa will be handling this project.” I knew the project was almost complete and Erika had her promotion due. But if Lisa and Tia handled this project, all the credit would have been taken from Erika. I had already involved Tia in this project on the first day so that I could sideline Erika later.

“Erika, give her all the files and details. Tia, help Lisa in this throughout,” I said looking into Erika’s beautiful eyes, and it made my heart shrink. She handed the files to Lisa and asked if she could take a break.

Chapter 14

Erika

“Could I be excused, sir?” I hated that I had to ask him to leave. This job meant too much to me; otherwise, I would have just gotten up and left. I could feel my heart breaking as I looked at her. Lisa was perfect. I knew she was his assistant, but by the way she acted around him, the way he looked at her, it was clear that there was something between them.

I felt so stupid. I allowed myself to fall for a man just in a single night. I was in my own fantasies for these two weeks. But, I was an idiot and he was just a womanizer.

Why did I expect anything else? I mean, what kind of idiot thinks that Conner Roland, who was the most eligible bachelor in the continent, would fall for an ordinary girl like me?
