The Billionaire's Seduction (The Billionaire's Temptation Book 1)(4)
Author: J. S. Cooper

“Okay.” He laughed. “So glad to have you aboard, Sarah. We’ll have to go out for drinks one night and exchange Harvard stories.”

“That sounds good.” I beamed at him while panicking inside. As he walked out of the door, I quickly went to Google and searched, “Everything you need to know about Harvard University.” I then opened the first of the folders he’d given me and stared at a paper full of numbers that made no sense to me. “Shit, shit, shit,” I said under my breath, my heart beating fast. I was in over my head, and I had no idea what to work on first. Katy had been right to be worried, this was going to be a lot harder than I’d initially thought. As I sat there, my mind drifted to the man in the elevator. He’d been an asshole, but he’d also been really hot. He was the sort of guy that you would give up all your morals for if you thought you had a chance. I laughed to myself at the thought. Thank God, I’ll never see him again. I don’t have to worry about doing anything stupid.

Chapter 2

The afternoon seemed to drag on. The files that Lewis had handed me to create spreadsheets from looked like a foreign language. I was attempting to create a pie chart from the information, but I had no idea what information should be in the chart.

“Shit,” I grumbled to myself. I wanted to call Katy to moan to her but I was too scared that she had already quit her job. I didn’t know what we would do if she had quit and I got fired. “Shit, shit, shit.” I got up and decided to go and get a coffee from the break room. One of the perks of Green & Hall’s Corp. was that we got free coffee and snacks all day long. And I was going to take advantage of that perk as long as it existed. I was going to need gallons of coffee to get through these files.

“Hey Lewis, I’m just going down to the break room to get a coffee. Do you want anything?” I popped my head into Lewis’s room as I walked to the elevator.

“No, I’m good.” He smiled. “But you should go up to the fortieth floor. They have a kitchen there that has a Nespresso machine and much better snacks.”

“Really?” I frowned thinking about the man from the elevator. “I thought we were supposed to go to the break room on the ground floor?”

“Don’t worry about it.” He laughed. “I go up all the time. It’s closer to us and you’re an executive now. You get better perks.”

“Sounds great.” I nodded and looked at my watch. Two hours had passed since my ride in the elevator, I’m sure that the man I’d met earlier had left the building already. I decided to take a chance and go up. I danced around in the elevator as I rode up, hoping that would wake my body up from the coma it had gone into after reading the boring files. I got out on the fortieth floor and sang to myself as I got out. I was singing and dancing along to a Sia song when someone came out of a room and crashed right into me.

“Watch where you’re going!” I snapped as I steadied myself.

“You bumped into me.” The man that had crashed into me turned around and faced me and I groaned. It was the man from the elevator.

“Oh, it’s you,” I snarled at him.

“Oh please, don’t tell Ben on me.” His voice sounded worried as his eyes danced.

“Who?” I looked at him with impatience.

“Your friend Ben, the CEO?” He looked at me with a raised eyebrow again.

“Oh, yeah yeah,” I hurriedly answered him. “You better watch out. He’ll be back soon and then I’ll have to tell him everything that’s been going on here.”

“Oh please, have mercy on me.” The man grabbed his heart. “I don’t want to him to get mad at me because I accidentally bumped into you.”

I looked at him curiously. “Aren’t you a bit old to be acting like a fool?”

He looked at me with a cocky face and burst out laughing again. I didn’t know what he found so amusing.

“I’m not trying to be rude here…?” I waited for him to supply his name.

“Bradley.”

“I’m not trying to be rude, Bradley but I think you are too old to be as rude as you are.” I waited for his reaction, hoping he wouldn’t start shouting at me.

“Well…?” He waited for my name.

“Sarah.”

“Well, Sarah, I think we are only as old as we feel, right?”

“I guess so.” I looked at him with pity, only the old said such things. Though I had to admit he was the most handsome man I’d ever seen in my life, no matter his age.

“I’m not going to be rude and ask you your age but I think you’ll find that as you get a bit older, you’ll be a lot wiser and be happier for it.” He gave me a look that made my cheeks flush with heat.

“Perhaps.”

“You’ll also find that older men are a lot better in bed.” He grinned at me.

“Excuse me?” I felt my face flush red.

“Older men make better lovers.”

“I understood what you said,” I snapped. “But that’s very inappropriate.”

“What’s inappropriate, Sarah?” He came in closer to me. “If you want, I could show you how much better in bed older men are?”

I swallowed hard as I stared into his eyes. They were so dazzling. They were almost transparent and depending on how the light hit them, they appeared to be the lightest of blues or a silver-gray. I wondered how I hadn’t noticed how blue they could be at times. They were eyes you could fall into and drown.

“I could lean down right now and show you what it’s like to be kissed by an older man.” He bent his head so that his lips were mere millimeters from mine.

“No.” I breathed and gasped as I felt his lips on mine, warm and gentle. I walked back into the wall and felt his tongue push into my mouth sensuously. I opened my mouth to say something but instead found my tongue exploring his mouth as I kissed him back. He must have just been drinking coffee because he tasted like caffeine, and kissing him felt very addicting. I closed my eyes and reached my hands up to his face to pull him away, instead I found myself playing with his hair. It was short and silky and the ends tickled my fingers. My eyes opened immediately when I felt his hands on my waist and I saw him looking down at me with sparkling eyes. I pulled away from him with as much dignity as I could muster and frowned at him.

“Now that was uncalled for.” I tried to sound mad but my words came out breathlessly. This is what sin tastes like, I thought to myself.

“You didn’t seem to mind just now.” He licked his lips and I watched his tongue slide back and forth on his luscious lips. Lips I had just been kissing.

“I don’t think you gave me a choice,” I bit back at him. “I’ve a mind…”

“To report me to Ben?” He finished my sentence for me and I turned my face up at him.

“You’re lucky you don’t work here, you know.” I pointed at him. “Or I’d have you turned in for sexual harassment.”

“Really?” He looked at me with a curled lip. “Well, that’s a good thing then, isn’t it, Sarah?”

I stared at him for a few seconds and then hurried away from him, ignoring the butterflies in my stomach. He had been right about one thing, older men sure did know how to kiss. My body was still reacting to the sweetness of his lips. I wanted to feel his hands on me again. I wanted to run my hands through his hair, and I wanted his tongue in my mouth. I shook my head to banish my thoughts. The last thing I needed right now was a sexual escapade with an arrogant asshole.
