Cowboy Bikers MC #5(5)
Author: Esther E. Schmidt

And now he has another plan. Everything else in my life has fallen apart, and the one man who doesn’t give empty promises is standing before me to offer me pleasure and a future along with it. I would be stupid not to accept.

“Okay,” I breathe.

He hums in approval but it’s clear he needs clarification when he asks, “Okay to what, doll?”

The way he says doll all husky…hell, a sandpapery voice…encourages me enough to go all in. I was already all in, but whatever; I want everything this man has to offer because I just know he’s good for it.

“Okay to your mouth, the offer to buy my freedom, anything you have in mind: take lead and I’ll follow.” I’m prevented from saying anything more because his lips slam over mine, plunging his tongue into my mouth and letting my heart skip a beat to process what’s happening to my body.

A low growl rumbles through his chest. His hands find the front of my shirt where he fists the fabric and rips; buttons fly through the air as his gaze lands on my breasts. My nipples harden against the lace of my bra. The man easily fingers the front clasp to free them but it doesn’t last long because his hands are holding them hostage the next moment.

The heat in his eyes is giving me a power boost, as if he’s enthralled and in disbelief. “Magnificent,” he croaks. “More than a handful. I imagined them in my hands so many fucking times but this–” His mouth surrounds one of my nipples and the wet heat leaves me gasping for my next breath.

Another rumbled growl flows through the air before my body is swooped up, only to land ass first onto the mattress. Colt’s hands are fumbling with the button of my jeans when a beeping sound starts and a red light flickers above our heads.

“Motherfucker,” Colt groans and leans his forehead against my belly. “Someone is inside my cabin. I gotta go.”

Fear makes my heart slam against my ribcage. “Who? Are they coming for me?”

He crawls up my body until his eyes hit mine. “There ain’t nothing I won’t face to keep you safe, doll. You’re mine, you agreed. Now, sit tight and I’ll be right back.”

“Wait.” I jump off the bed and grab his arm. “What if my brother is here? What if they are waiting out there to kill you because they know you have me locked up in here? You’ll need backup. Let me help.”

His arm lifts and when I follow to where he’s pointing, I notice a screen on the wall.

“When someone enters my cabin, it activates the security system. Flipping on the screen, light, and alarm here in the bunker. Weston and Roper are the only ones inside, and I can handle both.” He winces slightly and I know why.

“You shouldn’t have done it,” I whisper. “You lied to your brothers. Let me go up. I’ll explain how I drove off to give a distraction and sneaked my way in here.”

A sly grin spreads his face. “Smart thinking, but there’s one flaw.” He brushes his knuckles softly against my jaw. “There’s no way you could have sneaked inside without me knowing. All my brothers are aware of the tight security system inside my cabin. I never leave room for errors and nothing major happens in this MC without my knowledge. Not when it comes to sneaking someone inside a house like you suggested. It’s the reason only one other person knows you’re here since he handles the security system of the ranch.”

“You have an accomplice?” I ask with wide eyes.

He stalks in the direction of the door. “Alfie. But rest assured, he’s had my back many times as I have his. He’d cut off his tongue before ratting me out.”

The statement he just gave is the kind of loyalty these guys have among one another. It’s way different from where I come from now that my father is dead. In the time I’ve spent here I quickly noticed how much more of a brotherhood and family this MC is.

Colt shoots me a wink before he disappears, leaving me with a pit in my stomach. Worry. Fear. And those two have nothing to do with me but everything with the man who sacrificed a lot for my safety.

I tie my shirt closed since the buttons are scattered on the floor and all I can do is wait for Colt. Hoping he once again sticks to his word and returns safely.

CHAPTER THREE

– COLT –

The second I open my bedroom door and come face to face with my prez, I just know shit hit the fan.

“What’s wrong?” I question.

“I’m giving you one fucking chance to explain, and you’d better have a damn good reason why your sister’s car is a cube of scrap metal hidden away in our fucking junkyard.” Weston’s voice picks up volume with every word until the last two are bellowed in my face.

“Because I need time for my–” I cut off my answer as I quickly brace for impact.

Pain bursts through my head and my brain rattles from the hit to the jaw I just took.

I push Weston’s chest to keep space between us, holding my hands palms up. “Let me fucking explain. Haven’t I earned at least that fucking respect? I’ve always placed the club above everything else. Hell, above my own sanity, and you know it.”

“You’d better talk fucking fast or my fist will end the discussion before it started, asshole,” Weston snaps.

“I couldn’t tell you anything about my plan because you would have reacted differently if Rowen called or anyone else showed up. Same goes for you, VP. I had to protect all of us so if things went to shit it would fall solely on my shoulders. But I did tell Alfie, and he knows I would explain to you guys and why I had to do this part on my own. He had my back while I set things in motion. Kadence is my old lady, but I also need to put my MC first and that means I had to take steps to keep us safe. And if you must know…I had her gagged and cuffed to my bed while I was talking to you guys in the stable. Only Alfie and I knew what was happening. And Kadence wasn’t all too happy either, but I had to fucking do it. Rowen will do shit to get her back. He doesn’t care about his sister and has enough on his plate with his MC barely keeping things together. First, they had to deal with rats, the money loss, the property loss. Which I just found out is their clubhouse, so they need to relocate by the end of this month. And then the fact some of the brothers doubt his leadership, Cannon being the loudest bigmouth and the reason why he promised his sister to that motherfucker.”

“Fuck you, Colt,” Weston hisses. “I told you we couldn’t get involved. I fucking told you and you turned your back and saved her anyway.”

Roper steps closer and places his hand on Weston’s shoulder to push him slightly back and take his place to get into my face. “When you left our old ladies asked us to help search for her. They want to keep her away from her brother too. It’s why I ended up at the junkyard since it’s one of the places she knows from the lunch deliveries she helps your sister with. I did a sweep through this morning, you idiot. I noticed the extra cube of scrap metal as your sister’s car right away.”

A sigh rips from my chest. “Fine. I know how it looked, and I don’t fucking care what you might think. I damn well have my priorities straight, I don’t carry any regret and I’d do it again to keep everyone safe. I repeat…I needed all of you to give an honest reaction, then I had to check on Kadence since I had her gagged and cuffed. I was going to explain everything later, but I damn well couldn’t do it right then and there. And I ain’t going to make excuses for keeping my old lady safe…all while putting all of you first. I mentioned the gagged and–”
