Simple Math(7)
Author: Loni Ree

While sucking on her hard nipple, I slide my finger into her tight pussy. “I like swimming with you.” She arches her back to get closer to my mouth, and I bite down gently on her delicate flesh. Her wet fingers tighten around my cock, nearly causing me to come. I’ve been without my love for three days, and feeling her close is testing my control. “I need you now,” I growl against her throat before lifting her and slamming her down onto my dick. Her cry fills the night air, and several birds fly out of the tree as the sound echoes. The water splashes around us as I lose control inside her luscious body. Way too soon, she comes and her inner muscles clench my cock in a death grip. I try to hold on, but the pleasure drags me under. I shout her name and come until I’m dizzy. “I love you.” I can’t hold it back any longer.

Her head drops to my shoulder, and I worry I’ve spoken too soon when she whispers against the side of my neck, “I love you, too.” Closing my eyes, I take a deep breath and thank God. My girl is with me on this crazy ride.

I manage to convince her to spend the weekends at my house, then at her apartment during the week. Seeing her every day, even if it’s only to sleep with her in my arms at night, soothes me.

Weeks ago, I told Nick about Lexi, and he gave me hell. My friend begged me to remember all the trouble he’d gone through in a similar situation. Trying to convince him to give Lexi a chance was impossible. I lost my temper, causing him to retaliate, and we both said things that we didn’t mean. Now, everything has begun to fall into place with my girl, and I’d like to heal my relationship with my best friend. After my last class of the day, I pack my things and head a couple of floors down to his office.

Knocking, I wait and wonder if I’ve already missed him. “Well, well, well.” I hear his footsteps approaching and turn to see Nick strolling down the empty hallway. “Finally decide to come and apologize?” he raises his eyebrow, and I see the smirk teasing the edge of his mouth.

“Can we talk?” I ask and follow him into his office.

“Have a seat.” He reaches into the small refrigerator beside his desk and grabs two bottles of water. After handing me one, he sits and waits for me to begin.

“I’d like to apologize.” I take a sip and shrug. Nick has been my best friend since I was young. I don’t want to lose him, but I won’t let anything come between me and my girl. “I know you were trying to help me, and I appreciate you looking out for me.” When he opens his mouth to interrupt me, I hold up my hand, halting him. “I need you to shut the fuck up and listen.” Taking a sip of the cold water, I sigh and blurt everything out. “I’m in love with her, and she’s in love with me.” His eyes widen almost comically. “I don’t care if it costs me my job. I’m marrying Lexi.”

“Holy shit.” Nick rubs his bottom lip. “I had no idea it was this serious.”

Well, that’s true. He cut me off before I was able to explain anything weeks ago.

“Why don’t we head over to The Cluster and get a drink,” I suggest. “I’ll catch you up on everything.” After Lexi gets out of her last class, she works at the diner until nine tonight. I have plenty of time to have a few drinks with my friend.

We order two beers and Nick sits back in the booth. “Okay. Let me have it.” Shaking my head, I explain to him everything that’s happened between me and Lexi over the last few weeks.

He sits quietly and listens for a while before asking me a few questions. “Does she realize you’re rich?” He’s been burned and doesn’t trust women.

“Yes.” I finish off my beer and signal for the waitress. “Plus, her family is successful. She isn’t using me for my money.” After I tell him about my girl and her large family, he visibly relaxes.

“I’m sorry.” He sips his beer. “I hated the thought of seeing you go through the same shit I went through last year.” I appreciate his concern but I’m a big boy.

“Lexi isn’t using me,” I assure him. “And actually, I’d give everything I own to be with her.” I shrug. A while later, I glance down and see the time. “I need to go. I don’t want her walking home alone after dark.”

He smirks at me and drops a few bills on the table. “Gag me with a spoon.” Nick makes a gagging sound. “You’re going to make me sick with all the lovey-dovey shit.” His smile tells me my friend is truly happy for me. We make arrangements to have dinner soon so he can actually meet my girl and see for himself that this relationship is the best thing to ever happen to me.

The next week, I’m called into the Dean’s office. As I knock on his door, I take a deep breath and realize this isn’t important. If he fires me, I have plenty of money for us to live on until I find another job. I would miss teaching, but I won’t let anything stand in the way of my relationship with Lexi. “Come in.” Dean Butler points at the chair in front of his desk. “Sit down, please.” There is sweat dotting his forehead and running down the side of his face. His nineteen-eighties plaid suit hurts my eyes. After sitting, I wait for him. “Dr. McKinney, it has come to my attention that you’re dating a student.”

He stares at me, waiting for my reply. “Yes, sir. I am,” I admit then explain the entire situation. When I finish, Dean Butler sits back and runs his hand across his wrinkled brow.

“I have to bring this to the board and see what they think.” He shrugs. “For now, I’ll call this a counsel, but it may turn into something much more serious after the board meeting.”

I thank him for his time and leave. If they want to fire me, I’ll move on, but I’m not giving up my girl.

There aren’t enough hours in the day. This afternoon, I have a doctor’s appointment, and then we’re having dinner with Dane’s best friend tonight. To get everything done, I ended up skipping my classes today.

I’m happy to finally meet Nick. I knew something was going on weeks ago when Dane never tried to introduce us. A few days ago, he sat me down and explained the whole situation. Now, I understand why Nick has reservations about Dane dating a student. I appreciate him looking out for my honey, but I don’t want anything to damage our relationship. After my appointment, I’m planning to stop by the grocery store then rush to Dane’s home to prepare dinner.

We’ve been extremely lax with our birth control. That’s an understatement. We haven’t used anything at all, and so far, we’ve gotten lucky. I had a very light period last week and decided to see a doctor for birth control before I end up pregnant. One of the waitresses at work recommended a female gynecologist in town, and I was able to get an appointment for today. As I walk into the medical office lobby, my phone rings and Dane’s picture flashes on the screen. I hurry up and answer. “Hey there.”

“Hi, Love.” His deep, masculine voice still sends little shivers down my spine. “Why aren’t you in class?” Shaking my head, I roll my eyes. Mid-terms are consuming his mind, and he must’ve forgotten my appointment today.
