Feels Like Flying (Feels Like Falling #2)(9)
Author: J. S. Cooper

That’s my advice to you. If there’s a man that doesn’t want you as badly as you want him, then he’s not even worth the time of day.

I exited the bar and held my breath. One, two, three seconds later, I heard the door open and close behind me. Jackson grabbed me around the waist to pull me towards him.

I looked up into his eyes and smirked. “So I guess you got your answer, big boy.”

“I’m always ready for you, Rosie.” He pulled me in closer to him and I could feel his hardness pressed against my stomach. Shit, he was hard as hell and I was horny as hell. If we didn’t hurry up, then we’d be fucking in the parking lot all over again. And once was enough for one night. I mean, I didn’t even know if they had cameras on the side of the bar. How embarrassing would that be if our night-time hookup was caught on camera?

“Come on. I’m going to drive us.”

“You’ll have to drive me back to my car, though.”

“That’s fine.”

“You’re fine with driving me back to my car at 4:00 or 5:00 in the morning?”

“I said that’s fine, didn’t I? I don’t say things I don’t mean.”

“Okay then, Jackson. Let’s go.”

He walked me over to a black Range Rover, Sports Edition with tinted windows.

“This is your car?”

“Yeah. Get in.” He opened the passenger door for me and I slid in. I waited for him to close it, but instead, he just stood there.

“I want to do something,” he said.

“What?” I was suspicious. I mean, wouldn’t you be suspicious?

“I want to blindfold you.”

“Why? Are you kidnapping me?” I said with a small laugh.

He didn’t answer and the laugh died on my lips. Oh, shit. He couldn’t actually be kidnapping me, could he? My luck wasn’t that bad, was it?

“No, I’m not kidnapping you.” He pulled a piece of red silk out of his pocket and stepped closer. “I’m going to put this around your eyes and tie it at the back, okay?”

“Why?”

“Do you want the real answer?”

“What do you mean, do I want the real answer? What’s the other answer?”

“The other answer is that I want you to be excited and anticipate our time in the bedroom when you get to my place.”

“So that’s not the real answer, is that what you’re saying?”

“That’s not the real answer.”

“So what’s the real answer?”

“I don’t know if you want to know.”

“I want to know.”

“Fine. I don’t want you to know where I live.”

“Why don’t you want me to know where you live?”

“I don’t want you to know how to get to my house.”

“Why not?”

“I have my reasons.”

“Okay, so that’s not weird at all. You know where I live. You follow me. You know my car. You know everything about me. I don’t even know your full name.”

“You know that my real name is Alexei.”

“Dude, I don’t even know your last name!”

“Okay.”

“And now I can’t know where you live?”

“It’s better for you if you don’t know.”

“What do you mean it’s better for me?”

“Just listen to me. You don’t have to come with me. It’s better for you if you don’t know where I live.”

“So you want to blindfold me?”

“I mean, you could close your eyes, but ... “

“But what?”

“But I don’t know if you’d be able to resist opening them.”

“This is weird as fuck. You know that, right?” I didn’t know what to think. Part of me just wanted to jump out of the car then and there.

“It’s been weird as fuck since the beginning, Rosie. I didn’t think you cared.”

“Well, just take me to the hotel. At least I know where that is. Or I’ll just drive there myself. That way—”

“No, you’re coming to my place. Can I put this on you?”

I stared at him for a few seconds and then I gave in. I was out of my freakin’ mind. But in for a penny, in for a pound.

He grinned and placed the material over my eyes. He tied it gently behind my head. And then he grabbed the seatbelt and buckled it. As his hand pulled back, he grazed my breasts and I shivered. He slammed the door, then the next thing I knew, he was opening the other door and sliding into the seat. I felt his hand on my leg and trembled. This was kind of exciting, even though it was absolutely crazy. The ignition started and the engine purred to life.

“Must be nice to have a Range Rover,” I said.

“What? You could have one too.”

“No, I couldn’t.”

“I’m sure you could ask Daddy and he’d give you one.”

“Maybe.” I didn’t want to talk about my father, not tonight.

“So we should be there in about 20 minutes. Is that okay?”

“What am I going to say? No?” I mumbled, and he laughed.

“Oh, Rosie. Always the comedian.”

“Oh, Jackson. Always the poker player, never giving anything away.”

I felt the car moving and he turned on the radio. Smooth jazz played, and I groaned.

“Really? Do we have to listen to this? I didn’t take you for a smooth jazz kind of guy.”

“Oh, really? What sort of guy did you take me for?”

“Heavy metal and hard rock.”

“Really?” He laughed. “Not really into heavy metal, but of course I love some classic rock.”

“You’re not really telling me that jazz is your favorite, are you?”

“I like all sorts of things, Rosie. There are many things you don’t know about me.”

“Um, like everything.” I sat back, wishing I could see where we were going.

“Well, what do you want to know about me?” he said. His fingers ran up and down my inner thigh and I shivered. This felt oddly kinky, much kinkier than it would have if I hadn’t had the blindfold on.

“You’re not going to answer me anyway.”

“Try me,” he said. “What’s the worst that can happen?”

“I guess you tell me no.”

“Then you ask another question and see if you get a yes.”

“I guess so.” His fingers moved closer and closer to my panties and I closed my legs shut. “Jackson.”

“Yes, Rosie?”

“Concentrate on driving please.”

“Okay,” he laughed. His fingers slid down to my knee and squeezed before he placed both of his hands on the steering wheel.

“What was it like moving from Ukraine to America when you were a teenager?” I asked him quietly, not even being able to comprehend what such a move would be like.

“It was hard,” he admitted.

I actually hadn’t expected him to answer me, but it was nice getting to know him better.

“Why was it hard?”

“I didn’t really know any English. My parents didn’t know much English. We were poor. I was skinny. I didn’t fit in. I had an accent. You name it.”
